Yes, great to see these old parts, boxes, etc. Part of my history since I'm 78 years now:)

I am from Concordia and spent many times in St. Jo. Did not know he auctioned off the shop. The restaurant shut down less than a year ago. Great restaurant.

These auctions always brakes your heart. A lifetime has passed by. Just remnants of it left. Some things can be used by a young man that’s willing to use them, or a established dude looking for a certain thing. Todays shops are not as the old ones. Just put a scanner on it and start replacing parts till you get lucky. End of an era, but life goes on.

It certainly something to ponder indeed. I was thinking just that earlier today, while sorting through my fathers and his fathers engineering hand and machining tools. Both men worked hard on their feet. If only those tools could talk. Australia

What a trip down memory lane that is. I worked in auto parts stores in the sixties and sold a lot of those parts. Mostly United Delco, the aftermarket arm of GM, but some other brands. What a long way we have come.

Close up of the Heckendorn mower was cool. My dad used to build these in Cedar Point back in the early 60s. He made up a couple of the jigs used in the manufacturing process.

Seemed like some really good deals at that auction. The tractors went for what just the tires must cost.

The way you do your videos is spot on. I especially enjoy the first part where you walk around showing things and the auctioneer can be heard in the background. Excellent video Mr. Goodpliers

The Hunter balancer appears to be missing the most important parts which were in the case. These were discs that mounted to rim that you tuned using a dial to remove imbalance and it told you were to put how much weight. They work good especially on larger tires which often need to be balanced on the car. Later models use a strobe light setup.
@rayeddy5289 ай бұрын
I had two of them with the wheel mounted rings. I never could get the hang of them. Then front wheel drive vehicles came out. Couldn't use them on those. God bless you and yours!!! Eddy
@ricknitz37459 ай бұрын
The first time I used one of these the disc came off, took off across the shop, went out the door and ended up in the weeds behind the shop! It was not damaged during that incident. They were nice because the balanced the entire rotating mass, tier, wheel and brake drum.@@rayeddy528

The clock which listed the available Ford products would have been made for the 1977 model year. You can tell as LTD II replaced Torino that year, also last year for Maverick before getting replaced by Fairmont.

I worked ina shop that utilized a Hunter strobe balancer. We used it for unusual balance problems usually high speed so mainly Porsche and Ferrari is what I saw them used on. My understanding is you can balance propeller shafts,brake rotors ,etc ...any moving parts but I'm not sure on that.Hunter Engineering is the best of the best in any era,exterme high quality

My Dad had a gas station back in the 60s. I think the on car wheel balancer sorta died because disc brakes have enough drag to prevent the wheel/tire from getting up to speed. BTW it is a cool video of a town that is almost no more. I've seen several former little towns in Missouri with the big Catholic Church that still remains as just a building.

The red case went with the wheel balancer . There would have been adaptor rings for 13 14 15" wheels which were used to find the balance point and weights needed .

Wish I could get the front tires spin balanced on my 68 Road Runner with drum brakes again. That wheel balancer is missing the piece that attaches to the wheel that should have been in that case.

You don't have all the parts for the wheel balancer. Only work on older rims but great to balance the suspension and all. That's all I used for many years. However if you didn't clamp it on to the rim good enough. It would run down the road

Do you ever mess with antique 26/28" bicycles ?......They can be worth the trouble sometimes.
@mr.goodpliers69888 ай бұрын
I have to draw the line somewhere... there's only enough space in my head for so much... The deal breaker usually becomes that any time I encounter one at a sale, someone is there to pay market price for it, so there's no markup left. However, if you're into them, check out my upcoming videos - I went to the Mecum motorcycle sale in Iowa, and there was an entire room of bicycles at the museum that sold.

$1000 for that Ford 641 was a steal!..$700 for the Ford 2N was as well..I can't believe that Farmall M tricycle tractor went for $1700, though...that would have been a $500 tractor around here..not much demand or interest in tricycle row crop-type tractors at all around here...the Ford 641, on the other hand, would have easily brought $2500 around here even in that condition...the 2N would have brought almost the same...different markets, I guess...

17:52..not a Ford 8N tractor..it's actually a 2N...9N's were made from 1939-42, and 2N's from 1942-47..not much difference between a late production 9N and a 2N(early 2N's came with steel wheels due to WW2 rubber rations), but you can tell this a 1944-47 2N in part because it has the oval radius rods instead of the I-beam ones used on earlier tractors...

Stop saying all these auctions you attend are “abandoned”. If that were actually the case there would be no auction company conducting a sale to transfer ownership of the merchandise. If an estate were truly “abandoned” as you always claim it would simply be a free-for-all.

It's a search term for this type of video. Not the most linguistically complete, I agree. However there is no other better keyword for this type of place. Everything is owned by someone, somewhere, and I never enter a property without permission or take anything I haven't paid for
