The mobile home park may have closed. Mobile home parks will not let you move a used mobile home into another park. People had nothing to do with them and abandoned them. The ones with stuff inside were likely moved out of and the owner had to keep them for a certain period of time and never got rid of them.

I am 69 and a widow. I broke my neck in an accident and even though I can still walk, I have troubles and I can't mow or do upkeep any more. Through the years, my family of 6 collected stuff and my grown children just left it all. Plus my stuff. After my husband died and my youngest left, I sold my place. One cannot keep up a place very well on SSD. When I left, I left a LOT of stuff. Almost everything. Some good stuff. I moved to a 1 bedroom apartment. There just is not room for all that stuff, including a practically brand new washer and dryer, a dining room set, etc. I left dishes, beds, etc. So I can understand leaving stuff. I had no way to dispose of anything. I'm not one to get attached to stuff.

As a kid I grew up adjacent to a trailer park and when people either peaced out in the middle of the night or didn't pay their bills or maybe the trailer caught on fire, they would move those trailers to the end of the park. There was no fencing or preventing us children from exploring them. It's probably the impetus for my interest in abandonments. The trailers oftentimes came with contents as well. I can smell this explore just by watching.

I live in a brand new mobile home. My brother in law owns the property and put 3 brand new mobile homes on it. When he bought the property it was just an open field in a wooded area. Looking at old aerial photos we found out it used to have mobile homes on it during the 70s to 90s, and a large stone house near the main road. It even had a sidewalk connecting all the homes together. Doing excavating he uncovered some concrete probably from the former sidewalk, and the skeleton of a dog buried a few feet below ground. Unfortunately my two neighbors have already trashed the inside according to my brother in law.

At 27:38-45, if those lamps have been abandoned for over 20 years, I would have been taking them with me. I don't think taking abandoned trash from the woods would be considered "stealing." Those lamps are cool, along with the old Tonka tractor. Incredible find, JP.

I tend to think it could be a combination of both scenarios. Maybe someone bought the trailers dirt cheap at a sale or auction - including contents- to use for storage. So maybe some of the items were already there and the purchaser would by more stuff at sales or auctions and stored it in the trailers. My father owned an old building that was once a little store in the 1940s to sometime in the 60s. The building contained things from when the store was in operation and my father loved sales, auctions, etc and would by boxes of miscellaneous treasures and stored them in the old building. Great explore!!!

Hi Jay, Maybe the people who live in the home there use these for storage. The one with the bucket loader looked more like a storage shed. The Chateau Magic Chef gas range was from the 1960's. That last one with the orange cabinets decor in the kitchen was like something from the 1970's.

Wow, JP! What can one say? Incredible find! Sad to see the folks stuff gone to waste like that. That AMF bike manufacturing company had quite a history; very interesting and diversified! Yes, I agree with some of the comments about the trailer park owner pulling them out when rent wasn’t paid and parking them at that “cemetery.” Then he filled them to overflowing. He’s probably gone by now, so the stuff is left to rot. Loved the explore and thank you for taking us all along; much appreciated!!….🌝

As an avid hoarder viewer, i would guess that the old manager or owner of the trailer park towed condemned, damaged or just uninhabited trailers to this place to use as storage units for their hoarder collection. It looks like stuff was initially trying to be organized (almost by category per trailer) and then they just started quickly dropping off boxes & things. The person probably passed away and either no one in their family knew about their collection or they just didn’t want to deal with hauling all this away. I’ve seen episodes of hoarders where people have used their whole house to pack full of their stuff (basically used huge houses as storage units) and then they move into a boyfriend or family members place & then start packing their place ☹️ So someone using 3 whole mobile homes on the side seems very likely.

I too owned a mobile home...a huge double wide that is bigger than my house. They are money pits. Always something that needs repaired. Usually never a quick easy fix...floors rot...my roof shingles rotted...my siding bowed and constantly needed replacing, etc... Maybe whoever brought them there rented them out for a time and when they started falling apart they used them for storage...just a thought. I am guessing 70s and 80s mobile homes?

Mobile homes, when new are great to live in, but when they get to a certain age, be careful with ones you buy/ rent! Lived in one in the early '70's. The trailer park was a fun neighborhood. Lots of other kids to be friends with, and the property was well managed.
@lisarobertson5164 Жыл бұрын
In our opinion, someone was using those trailers for storage. People used to buy old trailers and stick them on their property to store things in. They also did the same thing with old school buses. That's why there's so many holiday decorations and toys. My guess is that they had boxes of stuff piled against the walls, that's why the boxes are still there with stuff in them. Probably who ever had them on their property died and the trailers fell apart. And yes, I've lived in one too and we always referred to it as a trailer, that's not being disrespectful. That item above the stove wasn't a microwave, it was the oven. The bike with training wheels was from the 70's. The trailers were probably built in the 60's/70's. You're braver than me. I'd be afraid of copperheads in there. Great video.

i think you are right on the money when you say it may have been a hoarder who bought these mobile homes to use as storage for whatever he bought. if you notice there was a chaotic organization to this melee of stuff. the first trailer had mostly Halloween items, the second had mostly machinery of some kind, the 3rd had mostly Chistmas, etc. yes there was a bunch of other stuff amongst it as well. but even that was fairly organized. like the room of leather coats and army boots. even the random boxes ween't random, at least to me. They looked more like estate auction misc boxes. that they will sell for just $1-$5. and the buyer planned to go through them at a later date and never did. it was too organized to be random, even though the items themselves were random. It is sad that a lot of those antques will get buried and lost forever though. i wish there was a way a person could get permission to go through them and retrieve them, not for personal gain, but so they weren't lost.

Those trailers look much older then 20 years. The wall paper in the first trailer reminds me of the wall paper in my grandfather’s trailer. And it could be if the homes were foreclosed on, that could be why they still have personal property in them. And if they were damaged or something to that effect that could be why they ended up tuck back there. And it is possible the mobile home park down the road, could have been the ones dumping those trailers there. Maybe they were caught doing it and were fined for it.

A (now deceased) family member used to assess mobile homes that had insurance claims such as storm damage, fire, etc. for the insurance company. Those that were declared a loss and the claim paid our, he would purchase from the insurance company. Some he would repair and add to his mobile home park as rentals. Others he would remove anything usable as repair parts and furnishings. I don't know what he did with the remains.

What a find. Thank you so much for taking me along. One thought I had as the video was rolling is these all belonged to family members. Was confident with my thought, until I saw the last trailer with modern furniture. Unless, that one belonged to a younger member of the family. Where the family went or how they got there is a mystery. Overall thought is, it’s a lot of stuff for one given trailer house. I didn’t see a bunch of kitchen utensils, or kitchen items, so was anyone really living there or was it for storage? It’s fun to read the comments. Stay safe JP, enjoy.

Also I would recommend getting some good ankle high hiking boots for places like this. If you go through any of those floors onto nails you will want the best protection on the bottom of your feet. Will also help with tics since you're going through all that overgrowth. Would love to visit this place... done some urban exploring and photography myself. It totally looks like storage. When a person has rental property much of the time people will move out and leave stuff behind. If the landlord has “vacant homes” or homes that are beyond repair they sometimes move the unused mobile homes to the back of the property and use them to store items left behind.

It looks like they were forced out of their homes and not allowed to gather their personal belongings ! Could it have been a trailer court forced to close and they threw everyone out? So I have a theory, I live in a trailer park myself, and just recently my park has been storing used trailers in the back, next to the woods. I asked the park manager if they were homes to be placed in the park. He said "No, the lady was late in lot rent so she had to have the trailer moved." The trailers I've seen were full of furniture too, so these trailers in the video could have still been owned by different individuals that couldn't find/afford a place to put the trailers or the bank repossessed the trailer itself and tried to sell them at auctions, the way they are. Also some banks hide the trailers so no one can find them, that's probably why they are in a weird location. This looks like the same thing my park does, banks have SUCH a hard time selling forclosed trailers that they just let them sit there to rot because it's easier than trying to sell them. Filled with furniture or not it's sad to see these trailers decay. I hope that helped a little bit, I also heard that banks now can help with lot rent if you are in a pinch because they don't want to keep moving trailers around.

Who ever owns the property needs to collect all the blow molds and sell them before they rot like Santa. I've seen several hundred dollars worth in just 2 trailers.

I think these trailers were at a park at one time. They were probably to old and damaged to rent out. The stuff inside I believe was taken from other trailers when the renters were evicted. The trailer park owner has used these trailers to dump the possessions of the renters who had to leave and couldn't take all there stuff with them. You see this stuff left behind in apts and homes. People pack up what they can fit in a car or truck and leave in the middle of the night.

I lived in a trailer (mobile home) in the 70's. Much like this one 7:43 you would have a master bedroom in the rear, a bathroom in front of that, a kitchen/living room and usually one or two smaller bedrooms in the front of the trailer.

I remember some trailers had a "sunken" living room or a bedroom up higher than the Other rooms.

It was a sad story on the news a few weeks ago where I live. There was a family who paid a moving company thousands of dollars to move their mobile home to a new location due to the owner selling the trailer park where it was previously at. While the company was moving it, there hitch broke and they left the trailer in the middle of a residential street. The city came out and was able to get it to the side of the road but the company had left it severely damaged from when they dropped it. People in the area started helping them get out what they could put in their car. Other people were stopping and stealing their belongings while they were taking things to their hotel they were having to stay in. The moving coming that they had paid would not do anything to help them, nor would they refund their money which I think was like $9000.00 and they would pay the remainder when it was completed. The city only gave them a few days to have it moved. The city ended up demolishing their mobile home and they are now homeless. It’s a very sad story. From the looks of this video there are probably said stories that go along with these trailers. Thanks you for sharing this♥️♥️♥️
