Dark Exploration Films The wheelchair you were asking about had that design from the early 1900s up until the late 1940s. Wheelchairs were made of aluminum beginning in the 1950s. That particular wheelchair might have been made anytime between the 1920s and 1940s due to the fact that Hospital was open in the 1920s. I only saw one metal wheelchair, I'm sure there were more, but it seems there were more wooden ones. I had to delete and repost my comment because I had a couple of idiot trolls. They never give up. And to all you trolls who have to leave nasty comments that refuse to think before you write, get a life. And to those who think I need to learn about other things. Use your brains and pay attention to my comment from the beginning and the video. He asks about the wooden wheel chair and I'm nice enough to help him. I like to learn about certain things. That's what normal, considerate people do and they help others. That's how you make friends and also what makes you likable and popular. Use your eyes, ears and brains before you comment.

At 6:07, Jobst Compression Unit is used for people with severe Lymphadema or DVT (deep being thrombosis). There are compression "boots" that r put on patients legs, the boots r then hooked up to the machine and the boots then compress intermittently on the legs to augment blood and lymphatic flow. Lyphadema and DVT pumps are not interchangeable. I hope this helps! Great video!

So that machine is what is now those stocking like things nurses wrap around the calves after a surgery? Ive had 5 c sections and have had the compression things on immediately post op to avoid blood clots. They can be quite annoying after you get the feeling back in your legs. It’s like a never ending leg massage.

6:17 While I'm not a medical professional, I majored in history with a focus on medicine and technology. From my limited understanding, that is a machine that hooks up to what are basically inflatable boots or gloves, depending on what area needed treatment. It is used to treat edema (swelling caused by excess fluids). EDIT: I should probably add that TB patients often developed edema.

At 6:08 that’s an early form of compression machine that served to prevent clots from forming in the legs of patients that were bed ridden for long periods of time. When you lay in bed for extended time you risk having what’s called deep vein thrombosis, or DVTs. The patient would wear stockings that covered the their legs and those stockings would connect to each terminal on that console. The console would fill each stocking with air one at a time at intermittent intervals.

The device located at 10:21 in the video footage. With the two glass tubes that are broken. Might be at home in an operating theater one tube would show oxygen levels being given to the patient. The other anaesthetic gas levels given to the patient. There have been many styles of anaesthetic vaporizer used but they all do the same thing. See this link for an example of one such vaporizer. images.app.goo.gl/Ar3TRNdgBz6MHbbm8 I hope this is helpful.

Hi I have had Tuberculosis in Brighton UK treated with Streptomycin, Rifampicin and Other treatments, it's sad to see the hospital abandoned like that. Why on earth wasn't the building turned into flats. Instead of just abandoning it like that. Seeing cots for babies and toddlers is just crazy that it's been left like that, what on earth happened to make it get abandoned like that . Thank tou for the insight like that, it wonder. If a place gets closed down you take patients files and equipment you don't just leave things behind.
