Worked on the extension of this building in 1985, Stayed at the Bridge of Allen, lovely memories

Worked there for 5 years up until 2020. Didn't want to leave that job but i had to move to glasgow. So haunting to see Craigforth completely empty now.

It now looks like something from the Soviet era! I remember it over many years, full buses going in and out each day with workers, a big employer in its time, similar to the old Players’ cigarette factory building (now repurposed as STEP).

A place so many people have worked at over the years....you can see why, now, it was an office of its time and has been vacated.

Literally on my doorstep. I heard it's going to be all knocked down and luxury homes in it place..

Spooky music: a bit like Chernobyl. Quite fancy some of that nice polished parquet flooring as salvage - if its going for free! The rest is mostly scrap and junk.

Very eerie, but brilliant. My current employer - had many team meetings on that site 🙂

There must have been thousands upon thousands of people that have passed through those corridors over the years.

That was cool. I used to live in Dunblane so I must have passed that building 1000s of times. Cool to see inside. We’re you able to just walk in?

Parked the car in the car park and wandered straight in. I was on site for about an hour and kept expecting security or somebody to turn up but no-one came.

As far as I know it's getting demolished.

Wow thanks for posting. It was my first full time job after after Uni when it was Scottish Amicable. It obviously got a LOT bigger! I didn’t realise Prudential had left. Do you know where they went or what the plans are for Craigforth?

They are over the other side of the Motorway now.

Demolition is planed for the main building, the old capita building across it and the IFDS building. It's supposed to be replaced with a mixed use area offering homes, hotel's and a few shops. The sculpture at the main reception is being saved as well and will be put on display somewhere when the new campus is done
@kirstiecurling335 Жыл бұрын
@@angusgrier5677 thanks Angus. A whole new village then by the sounds of it. Sad in a way but I suppose that's progress. Different times though, a free bus to and from work, free bus into Stirling at lunchtime if you wanted, the yellow flexitime key , the old house, old microfiche, and those massive Christmas bonuses! We didn't realise how lucky we were

obviously still has power working, were the lights on when you went in or did you switch them on?
@coconutislanddrones Жыл бұрын
Only one part of the complex still had power which I found strange. The lights were already on although in a couple of rooms there is water pouring in through the light fixtures so I was careful to make sure I walked round the water on the floor.

You say there's now security 24/7, has anyone been there recently to check that?

The building with the sloping roof was a complete furnace in the summer in the 1980s. This was the era even after the sex discrimination act where women could wear summery dresses but men had to wear a suit and tie and needed permission from a manager to take their tie off. A great roaring dinosaur of a company back then, Scottish Amicable
