You were really out in the boonies. Greene Co had a huge oil boom in the late 1800s. There's a lot of abandoned homes out that way bc parents died and the kids moved away or didn't want the places.

boom mighta been some 1 getting in a wreck that van door was probably stuck from sitting , in the 1st house the kitchen was seperate maybe to keep food smelks & grease from frying of the walls and maybe to have a warmer dinner area
