I never thought I would see the day when Pizza Hut locations would close! My hometown Pizza Hut is still popular & still have their buffet!

They are still popular... It's just a bunch of their locations have closed around here in Pittsburgh. But we had so many anyway. There are still a few that still have their buffet but not many. A few places are carry-out/delivery only places. But rumor has it, the owner of Pizza Hut has a plan to bring them back. We'll see what happens!

I liked it best when they had the juke box and all of the original deccor, including the iconic mate's chairs, distinctive for their guitar shaped seats and ornate spindle backs. I think it's very sad that Pizza Hut is closing many of their old restaurants. My girlfriend and I have created a fictitious Pizza chain called "Roggie's Pizza & Pasta", which the restaurants mimics the old Pizza Hut restuaurants, complete with the mate's chairs.

I'm not certain if anyone remembers, but this Pizza hut had to be rebuilt. In the early 90s the original building caught fire. The damage sustained was so severe that the building had to be razed. It was rebuilt from the ground up.

@WallieB26...this was actually a very busy restaurant for a long time (since the 70s) until several years ago a gigantic sinkhole opened up in the lot between the Pizza Hut and the Advanced Auto - it was literally larger than a football field - and it swallowed up another restaurtant that sat in that empty lot. It took over 2 years to fix that area and in the meantime the businesses around it suffered badly because of the continuing collapsing going on. By the time it was fixed, Pizza Hut's business had suffered so badly they had to close. What you didn't notice @ 2:22 was that right behind & caddy-corner to the Pizza Hut sits an abandoned Hollywood Video that has sat empty longer than the Pizza Hut.

Ahh Pizza Hut In Rochester PA. Spent many Saturday nights there. The last day of school they always had the 2.50 all you can eat pizza and salad. At one time that place was always busy. But all the shopping in cranberry township and on McKnight road killed a lot of the businesses on route 65. All those strip malls are pretty much abandoned

A new restaurant opened on April 1, 2021 -- "1942 Tacos & Tequila". It's Mexican cuisine, located at 810 Ohio River Boulevard in East Rochester PA. They have a Facebook page. That area was used as a clay mine prior to 1930. There was a subsidence issue next door, where Auto Zone Auto Parts now sits.

Our current Pizza hut was built in 1994 and has this exact building design, originally it had a red roof but about 5 years ago they redid it in black like this one so I assume that this was closed within the last 4 years. Our original Pizza hut location (which was built in 1977) is now a Hong Kong buffet.

Most of the Pizza Hut sit down restaurants in Toronto closed a while back. In there place they opened tons of delivery only stores. Guess folks don’t go out for dinner at Pizza Hut anymore.

Another great find! Our local Pizza Hut full service restaurant in Dallas GA is still open, complete with the all you can eat lunch buffet/salad bar.. Go figure..

This one looks like a later one, built in the 80's. Given the shape of this one, whoever buys this property may back hoe it. There were eleven original Pizza Hut restaurants in my hometown of Charlotte NC. Only two are still operating as Pizza Huts. One pretty much has it's original appearance and trademark hat shaped roof, but it appears to no longer have a dining room. It's takeout and delivery only. The other has been either renovated or rebuilt. I can't tell which. I don't know if it has a dining room. Two are used vehicle dealerships, two are seafood restaurants, one is the Moosehead grill, one is a chicken joint. Two others have been back hoed, and the property redeveloped. Pizza Hut has a special place in my heart, because it's where I first fell in love with the iconic mate's chair, distinctive for it's guitar shaped seat, and ornate spindle back. I was sitting in one of those chairs when I first heard my favorite Rolling Stones song on the juke box, "Shaddered" in March of 1971. I was eight years old, laughed my socks off at the way Mick sings in the song. When I was in eighth grade, my friends and I made up a lingo that originated from that song, that's stuck with me to this day.

Wallie, The Pizza Hut building in my town turned into a car dealership. The restaurant moved it's location to a small shop down the road with no seating, just take out now.

The location you are is actually East Rochester PA The building is still vacant / unoccupied, supposedly a francise of El Paso mexican restaurant was going to open there but never came to be The location where the Advancaed Auto is was originally a restaurant called The Evergreen Family Restaurant, building was condemed and demolished due to damage from a sinkhole that ran all the way under the highway There was a K-Mart in that plaza years ago which moved over near by to Rochester and has since closed The K-mart had an auto center which was located where the Auto Zone is now

Most Pizza Huts in Chicago are now like Domino's, in strip malls for pickup or delivery. The sit down places are closing/closed.

That Pizza Hut is located in east Rochester. It has been closed down for almost a year. About a year in October it will have been shut down. They just remodeled the outside of the building last April, but the Pizza Hut shut down that same fall of 2016. I don't really know the details of why it closed down I only know when. I can tell you to the right of that Pizza Hut where advanced auto parts is there used to be a family restaurant called Evergreen and between evergreen and Pizza Hut a massive sinkhole developed around 2007 swallowing evergreen and moved its way halfway into the Pizza Hut parking lot. They finally fixed the sinkhole about 5 years ago. But maybe this Pizza Hut now closed down due to building damage caused by the sinkhole possibly? The inside of that Pizza Hut was very retro, had the pizza buffet bar as well as the beer taps at the front counter and a small arcade area right near the pickup window.

This is on State Route 65 by Rite Aid in Conway PA if im not mistaken and there is a abounded Wendy's right down the road that closed in 20088 my old boss at the Moon Township Wendy's Owned this before it close. This closed in 2006.

Great video! This Pizza Hut is in very bad shape, but I could see someone repurposing it. I also feel bad for the people who love pizza hut and live in that area. In my city we have a Pizza Hut which was just remodeled and is better than it ever was. Also, I believe they keep electricity because of that security alarm next to the door and the lights to keep away intruders or just to show the place better for people buying the site.

Maybe the reason for still having electricity may be for realtors to show the building, contractors to use, or perhaps it is running something like a security system, irrigation timers for sprinklers, the heat set to come on to prevent a winter freeze (set at maybe 45 degrees), perhaps a light is on a timer or photocell (or perhaps the parking lot lights still come on at night), or something.
