This abandoned Pizza Hut and car wash looked vintage! The vacuums at the car wash looked so 80's or 90's! The Pizza Hut looked vintage, also! I was a little kid in the 1980's and I grew up in the 1990's! I did enjoy watching your video! ❤😘👍 It was awesome! Thank you so much!

They tore down one of the old Pizza Huts near Winchester it's becoming a Royal Farms but we still have an old school Pizza Hut still here but I think it's now car dealership

Several years ago I had an online magazine and did a month long series about donations. My uncle was a heart recepetant and friends of mine lost a daughter and donated her organs. It's sad that most of the old Pizza Huts are either abandoned or housing other local businesses. Some sadly enough have been back hoed. The thing that I remember most fondly of the old Pizza Huts is two basic things. One is the songs that I first heard on the juke box, including the Rolling Stones "Shaddered". The way Mick Jagger sings in that song made me laugh my socks off. Ironically, I also fondly remember the Early American mate's chairs. I always looked at those iconic dining chairs as an essential part of the original decor along with the red checkered tablecloths etc. Though chairs are meaningless to others, the Early American mate's chair to me is very iconic and striking because of it's "guitar shaped" solid wood seat. I noticed the guitar shaped seat the first time I sat in one of those chairs as a six year old child. I climbed up into it, gripping the seat by the edges. That's when I noticed the in-curves that give the mate's chair seat the guitar shape. That's why I look at the mate's chair like one would look at a "Christine" car. Christine is Stephen King's demonic '57 Plymouth Fury. I personally look at the guitar shaped solid wood seat the way one would look at Christine's tail fins. I also admire the ornate spindles, the ornate lathe work in the legs and cross members, and the curved and scolloped back rail, which to me is very elegant. For the second period that Pizza Hut had the mate's chairs in their old restaurants, 1976-'84, I dream that Pizza Hut's second stint with the mate's chairs was the work of Christine. I dream that it was Christine who brought them back during early morning hours. She pulled in, pulled her starboard side up to the customer entrance, and used her supernatural powers to unlock and open the door. Then the other chairs inside scooted out from under the tables simultaneously, as the mate's chairs started floating in mid air out of Christine's starboard side, from her cabin into the Pizza Hut dining room, placing under the tables. Around my dining table at home, I have four mate's chairs that closely resemble the ones that Pizza Hut twice had. Mine are finished in oak, while the ones that Pizza Hut had were finished in dark walnut. I also have a red checkered tablecloth to go with the mate's chairs. I've had them for over 30 years, and they're still in good shape. The reason, I've always sat in 'em with proper posture, hips to the spindles!!!! I never lean back on two legs, never slouch in 'em, and never push 'em out from under the table with all of my weight on 'em. If anything was to happen to those chairs, I'd be just as heartsick as Arnie was when Reperton and his good buddies trashed Christine.

If I remember correctly, the car wash was abandoned by the owner. It was functional one day and the next the owner had just vanished and left multiple buildings around the La Vale and Cumberland areas.

An update. The Pizza Hut building in Cumberland is now occupied. Called Scotty's Pizza and its awesome. The Pizza Hut building in LaVale MD is now occupied by Ledo's Pizza.

We drove by right past it a few weeks ago coming back from Winchester, VA. I was pleasantly surprised to see a new business in that building and even laughed a bit when I saw it was another pizza restaurant. I hope they do well. I'd like to stop by and check them out next time we're out that direction.

Our Pizza Hut is a old retro style hut, and in fact, we had two of them, but both were repainted, and one remains open in a semi-modern state with dine in, and the other is closed, but will be turned into a taco place. Also in Bryson City, North Carolina, there is a Retro Pizza Hut with the classic style hut and retro paint, and still is open. Definitely a neat place.

There's a Pizza Hut like that near my home that still has the hut roof. When Pizza Hut closed, an Indian restaurant moved into the building. They kept the hut roof and painted it and the rest of the building white. In my area, there are no dine in Pizza Huts anymore, only delivery and carry out.

You were in my hometown, not much to be proud of really. Anyway, that car wash closed down and abandons with a blink of an eye for several years I can't remember when it closed it was way before the pandemic. I believe that Pizza Hut closed in 2020 and is now reopen as Scotty's Pizza and the other pizza hut location that was rumored for years to be either Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks or Cici's Pizza ended up being Ledo's Pizza...lol. We did end up getting a Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks though...lol. late 2021 is when DD opened and Starbucks in 2022 both are in LaVale. Anyway, when you and Kayla were striking out on places to eat around Cumberland, I know what you mean the best places to eat are all at least an hour or 2 away. Thank you for being a blood donor. My dad organizes blood drives here in Cumberland.

Kmart and nearly 1/3 of the mall was demolished for a WalMart. There is an abandoned JC Penney, Sears and BonTon though. The mall is dead.

There are only 2 Pizza Huts left in the Detroit area. They are located on Gratiot just north of 10 Mile Road located in Roseville, Michigan. The second one is located on Woodward, just north of 9 Mile Road located in Ferndale, Michigan. Both Pizza Huts are carryout only. For the dine in Pizza Huts in the Detroit area are closed permanently.

My hometown & I still remember when both business's were OPEN & there's a bowling alley on the other side of the lil hill behind the Pizza Hut. I was so intrigued when I saw your video pop up on my search. 🙂🌄🏞 Each location use to be very popular. Also the Ames store was originally called Hills. I was so upset when I learned Hills was being closed lol bc it had an awesome lol arcade in the very front of the store & they sold the big box of popcorn, huge salted pretzels & most importantly they sold the Blue raspberry & Cherry slushies with the cute little white dog as the logo.

Pizza Hut was the go to place in the 90s. I try to visit the one in my area but they're expensive now. I don't know if they went downhill due to Covid or if it was before then. I went one Saturday and their pizza tasted kind of stale. Usually its fresh but it was just that one time. The execs really needs to try to save the company because they can't go like Kmart.

Pizza Hut, like Ames, Kmart and other stores, falls out of the public favor. New businesses open or the people get tired of the old businesses. Stores and restaurant chains used to attract customers from one generation to another but not anymore The trouble is there are no new chain stores or restaurants opening so the choices are narrowing.

Many of the pizza hut locations were not well maintained over the years. Before they began closing them, the carpets were filthy, the booths and tables were gross. This particular location, the mens room urinal had been out of service for at least a decade. And honestly, over the years, the pizza quality had gone down, IMO.

pizzahut wants to close and sell all of its sit down store because they make more money from take out they have been doing it for a while. the one i went to in the 90s was demolished and they moved down the street to a tiny takeout building. i hate it. the old one had arcade machines and everything now i have to order the pizza and sit out on the curb or go to the car and eat. they demolished the sit down building it was perfectly fine shape they did that with all of them in the area

Love my city cumberland maryland, its hell for the youth here, small city. Big crime and drug problem. Especially south central. This is on industrial boulevard (south east towards Mexico farms.) All of these businesses closed down not too long ago (in the past couple years) I used to use the car wash after football practice as a child. Poverty is killer. Mental health crisis is killer. Add on covid, and drugs you have a city on the verge. RIP to all the children and teenagers who never made it out of these rolling hills of maryland. We miss all of you that have been taken away from us by killings, drug overdoses, and mental health crises.
