Abandoned Pizza Hut - Erie, PA. Today we walk around another closed Pizza Hut. It appears this closed permanently as a result of the virus. This particular location has some sad news tied with it that in 2019 an employee died and another injured as a result of being shot inside of the restaurant. The killer was arrested as a result. And in 2021 this location just sits here empty.

I was working in the ER the night they brought these victims in. It was so sad and I am not surprised at all this Pizza Hut closed . No one wanted to eat there anymore especially me. The employee that died was murdered by her estranged partner and the second victim I believe got shot in the arm when he was firing at his intended victim

This makes me sad to hear about the employee. I hope her family got the closure & answers they needed. At 5:58 time stamp - there looks to be a piece of paper stuck in the door. I wonder if it had anything written on it or if it was being used to keep the door from locking? Pizza Hut is the first pizza I remember tasting & it’s been my favorite ever since, followed by Pizza Joe’s.

It's sad that most of the old Pizza Huts are either abandoned or housing other local businesses. Some sadly enough have been back hoed. The thing that I remember most fondly of the old Pizza Huts is two basic things. One is the songs that I first heard on the juke box, including the Rolling Stones "Shaddered". The way Mick Jagger sings in that song made me laugh my socks off. Ironically, I also fondly remember the Early American mate's chairs. I always looked at those iconic dining chairs as an essential part of the original decor along with the red checkered tablecloths etc. Though chairs are meaningless to others, the Early American mate's chair to me is very iconic and striking because of it's "guitar shaped" solid wood seat. I noticed the guitar shaped seat the first time I sat in one of those chairs as a six year old child. I climbed up into it, gripping the seat by the edges. That's when I noticed the in-curves that give the mate's chair seat the guitar shape. That's why I look at the mate's chair like one would look at a "Christine" car. Christine is Stephen King's demonic '57 Plymouth Fury. I personally look at the guitar shaped solid wood seat the way one would look at Christine's tail fins. I also admire the ornate spindles, the ornate lathe work in the legs and cross members, and the curved and scolloped back rail, which to me is very elegant. For the second period that Pizza Hut had the mate's chairs in their old restaurants, 1976-'84, I dream that Pizza Hut's second stint with the mate's chairs was the work of Christine. I dream that it was Christine who brought them back during early morning hours. She pulled in, pulled her starboard side up to the customer entrance, and used her supernatural powers to unlock and open the door. Then the other chairs inside scooted out from under the tables simultaneously, as the mate's chairs started floating in mid air out of Christine's starboard side, from her cabin into the Pizza Hut dining room, placing under the tables. Around my dining table at home, I have four mate's chairs that closely resemble the ones that Pizza Hut twice had. Mine are finished in oak, while the ones that Pizza Hut had were finished in dark walnut. I also have a red checkered tablecloth to go with the mate's chairs. I've had them for over 30 years, and they're still in good shape. The reason, I've always sat in 'em with proper posture, hips to the spindles!!!! I never lean back on two legs, never slouch in 'em, and never push 'em out from under the table with all of my weight on 'em. If anything was to happen to those chairs, I'd be just as heartsick as Arnie was when Reperton and his good buddies trashed Christine.

I live in Erie the murder happened in the pizza hut. The guy entered the pizza hut where his girlfriend was working, shot one worker woman in the shoulder, his girlfriend in the head in the kitchen, then ran out. They closed down, remodeled and reopened shortly after. They closed around the pandemic

I grew up several blocks from here and went there to eat many times. This south/east area of Erie is actually pretty safe.

The east is relatively safe. Just like all "hoods" it purely depends on where you go. Anything entering the east side (parade to buffalo road, and pretty much all the neighbor hoods in the wallace street area are a little sketchy)

I grew up in that area as well. Spent alot of time in that Pizza Hut. ( Valarios?) was good as well. That neighborhood isn't bad, crime can happen anywhere though. Yes, lower east side...yikes! When I returned for a visit, I was told to avoid that area because of riff raff. It's a beautiful city though. Oh, still love Pizza Hut.

Im sad that it closed too because even that the shooting happened I would have gone there after the incident was over because I would of felt safe because the shooter is not going to do any harm to me because he's in jail and even if it was to stay open and was not sentenced to life in prison, he would not be allowed back in the store, he would be banned, for the rest of his life and would not be allowed to carry a gun because he is convicted of a felony. I know this Pizza Hut is closed and replaced with a Taco Bell and I went to the Taco Bell when it was new and felt safe and I don't think I met the girl that was murdered and even if I have I don't remember her and I don't know if I met the girl that survived or not but If the girl that survived likes girls instead of guys then yes I probably have because I met I girl that worked there in the brown hair that said she has a wife. even if the shooter gets less Time in prison I hope the shooter gets banned from all yum brand restaurants so no Taco Bell, no pizza hut, no KFC, no long John silvers that is all yum brand property, he should not be allowed at those establishments even if he gets out of prison, he is not allowed at my house, he is not allowed at my friends and relatives house we don't want him at these places, like yum brands they don't want him at their establishments, I'm afraid of him. If I see him around I would be scared and scream. It's federal offense to murder anybody. If you see suspicious activity at a restaurant or store or if you see a gun call 911.

If you ever make it back down to my former home area, Lancaster, PA, There's at least 4 abandoned Pizza Huts within 10 miles or so from the city. 3 of them closed up last year, one from 2019 I think. There's also an Abandoned Perkins, AC Moore, and Toys R Us near the city, and up 10 miles in Ephrata is an Abandoned Kmart

Wallie, the Pizza Hut that you pass regularly on Rt 30 in Irwin has alot of history. Mainly the wall that the Norwin HS art students painted back in the day. The manager, Lou, was a great guy.

I live in Erie. You missed another abandoned Pizza Hut in Girard not to far from this one. The murder was really sad. 💔 It was a angry ex situation. As far as I know, it closed due to financial reasons. Same as the one in Girard. But I could be wrong.
