Today I am going to be working on my abandoned places art journal! I embossed and painted the backgrounds and added the magazine collage. Lisa... make sure to watch to the end for kitty!

Yes, you can use regular acrylics to do the watery effect. if you want flat paint, Golden makes a flat called So Flat but Golden paints are expemsive.

Omg I love this and I want to do it too! I used to be a scrapbooker. And by that, I mean I used to buy a whole bunch of scrapbooking supplies and put them on shelves and make them look beautiful but pretty much never use them because I was afraid to not make the "perfect" page with my pretty supplies. So...I have a whole bunch of things still stored away and I think I have embossing powder and some stamps. I'll just have to buy a versamark pad because I'm sure if I did have one it is long dried up by now. I'm so excited!

How exciting to have all of the supplies! All you need now is some free time :) It's funny where inspiration and creativity come from. Once you start, you won't be able to stop! This hobby is awesome because of the instant gratification of your creations. Good luck!

I see that you have a lot of rubber stamps rather than clear ones… my rubber stamps are all mounted on wood… did you remove them from wood? Are they mounted on foam cushion? Having them not on wood takes up less storage space but I worry about them getting bent. I have to laugh about “too much stuff on my desk” -- we NEVER have enough space because every tool and medium needs to be immediately accessible!

I bought them unmounted. I would leave my stamps on the wooden blocks unless you KNOW you can use them taken off! Maybe pick a couple that you don't love and try them first?!?!?

@@TaraJacobsen I have hundreds of unmounted… for more than 15 years my sister in law and I frequented stamp conventions and made greeting cards. I have so many that I never use and I’d love to find a happy home for them. I often bought sheets of them and then I mounted most of them on foam cushion. Maybe we can work out a swap of some kind if you’re interested. My sons would probably just toss them away as junk if anything happened to me.😰
