My grandfather was kept there in the 1970s. He had Parkinson's disease and but back then they treated it like a psychological disorder. He was treated terribly and was abused by the staff according to my Dad

My fiance and I just stopped by here today. It's quite something to see the place in person. It's such a cool looking building. They had security all around the building today. I also didn't know the OPP station was right beside it lol. One day it would be nice to sneak in there.
@neiljoosse8989 Жыл бұрын
At 13:30 you are at the precise perfect location to get in. There is almost no way anyone can see you there. You jump the fence and go in through one of the doors close to the centre of the building. Once you are in you need to be able to get through the barrier wall to get to the rest of the complex. Those back wings were blocked off by concrete, because they were closed about 10 years earlier than the rest of the building. They are in far worse shape, you don't want to stay in that area longer that you need to. The rest of the main building is fine though. Best explore I've ever done.
@halvorviktor123 Жыл бұрын
do you know if it is still accessible this way?
@neiljoosse8989 Жыл бұрын
@@halvorviktor123 I would expect so. You need to wait a month or so for the foliage and greenery to grow in a bit to give you some natural cover. You need to access the property through the field behind it so the cops and security don't see you. Once you are over the fence, they will never know you are there. You need to bring a few items with you to get into the door and through the concrete wall in the underground tunnel. Its an amazing explore, but takes planning and nerve to pull it off. The best explore I have ever done, but also the most difficult... If you are planning to do it, I can give you my email address and give you some specific details that you need to know.
@halvorviktor123 Жыл бұрын

@@RandomAndrew Seriously? They shouldn't be able to hassle you when you're just standing in front of it and making a video on it. I'm not too far from St. Thomas and I'd love to see this place. You gave some good advice earlier though. The justice system does sometimes like to make examples out of people. Even if I explained to the police that I'm wanting to shoot a video not just for historical reasons, but also for views, they'd probably still make an example out of me lol. These views might lead to a modest passive income during these tough economic times.

Great video! I dont know why the government does not convert this facility to low income apartments! Could you imagine how many low income people and families could be housed here. But I guess the government does not think the way I do! Later!!!!
@RandomAndrew6 жыл бұрын
I would donate my own personal time to help in a conversion like that.. I agree with you 100%!
@witchbitch53215 жыл бұрын
sadly becaause nothing is up to date and the amount of espestaice it would cost our town alot of money to fix it up to make it into apartments aswell as converting the rooms they kept the paitents in into apartment like spaces it could take upwards of 4 or 5 years to finish aswell. My mother also had a tour of it when it was still open and they wouldent allow them past a certain point because of the conditions it was in, for both how people where treated and how up to date it was. so really its unrealistic to do anything to it. and it also wouldent have proper instalainton and the amount of lead paint. so in a time and money sense they arent really able to do anything at this point... dont take my word for it in only 16
