Just visited the church today. A bit more difficult to get there after heavy rain but with sturdy shoes we managed. And the views were surely worth the effort! thank you Pierre for showing us new place to explore :)

We didn't know about the valley or the chapel so we went there last weekend. The video must have been a hit as there were many people visiting the area, some with small children like us and also trekkers and elderly people! Excellent video, as always, however, videos such as this one are very well suited for those of us who have small children so we get new ideas for family outings! Thank you! 👍🏻

Thanks for the vlog Pierre & Pukka, it was really nice to follow. Such a beautiful and quite place in the country. The running water always makes one feeling better due to the negative charges and it's good to see too. The bird's eye views by the drone are really enjoying, thanks to Vince as well. Yes, hope something is done quickly to restore/preserve these historical small building for the future generations. Well done again Pierre and Pukka.👍👍

It is such a shame such buildings are left in such a bad way. There is quite a few like that in Malta and a pity something could be done and get restored. The area round the Chapel did seem a lovely peaceful area. The drone shots of the views around the Chapel was excellent.Another good video and looking forward to your next one .

There's alot being done to conserve these historic buildings. If you speak to people who live there, they will tell you about the constant building work.

Thank you Pierre and Pukka for a very interesting walk to this chapel, shame it is in this state of disrepair, could it be taken over by Heritage Malta? Lovely views too. Thank you again.

Another very enjoyable Vlog. The hill across the valley from Wardija is known as il-Qala and was once a fortified Bronze Age settlement. As Secretary of a voluntary organisation (Harsien Patrimonju Mosti), I organised a clean-up there around 2 years ago, removing dead and invasive vegetation from the original footpath that led to some pillboxes there. These were originally manned by the Royal Irish Fusiliers. I could join you for one of your future vlogs if you decide to explore the Hill. It is sad to see the chapel in such a state and thanks for raising awareness about this issue. The sign on the facade is actually a warning in Latin and may often be found affixed to the frontage of such chapels. It is an abbreviated form of "Non gode l'immunita' ecclesiastica" which means it may not be used as a safe haven for criminals and outlaws. This since at the time, there was a decree known as Ecclesiastic Immunity that disallowed the arrest of any wrongdoers who took refuge in churches. Most countryside chapels did not enjoy such immunity, and anyone hiding within were still subject to arrest, despite being on sacred ground.

Bravo Pierre. Purtroppo queste chiesette così isolate fanno una brutta fine. Non è rimasto niente anche l intonaco è caduto. Un altro pezzo di storia che se ne va. Comunque bravo Pierre a far conoscere queste realtà. Speriamo che qualcuno metta mano al portafoglio e la sistemi ma credo che sarà difficile. Grazie ancora Pierre e sempre in gamba. Bravissimo ciao dalla Puglia

NICE VLOG OF A BEAUTIFUL AREA ⛪ 🎥 Can't remember being there although we lived few kilometres away 🤔. Pierre, won't that chapel look beautiful if restored - what a shame to let it go to ruins 😲. "NON GODE L'IMMUNITA ECCLESIAS" - up to 1761 offending criminals were given refuge by the church which also protected them from prosecution/punishment. However, after that date the church stopped doing so and erected those signs as warning to that effect. GOOD drone-ography Vince - very effective. THANKS PIERRE & VINCE 👏👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
