I figure you are correct cars are loaded from 18 bins by my rough count. The incline is where the loaded cars are pulled up the mountain. Coal trains exit to frackville. Sound correct ? What i cant figure out yet is why ? Lets mine coal down at a low level & haul it up over a mountain ? Were the tracks at mahanoy not used ? Always more guestions ! Many Thanks for your time. Pauley

Mahanoy Plane between Girardville and Gilberton? Lived in the area most of my life and never knew about those ruins. I need to ask around for exact spot and go check it out. Lads at the bar in Mahanoy Plane (around here we call MP 'the Foot') will know.

This place was huge,,,, There were tunnels and substructure corridors I didn't have time to explore,,,, Maybe that will be part 3 :)
