Abandoned Scottish Colliery(Coal Mining) - Urban Exploration

First up, I'd like to let you guys know that there will be documentary I took part in about the Shale Mine Industry in West Lothian and it will be airing on the 17th of May this month on BBC 2 Scotland at 21:00, so if any of you are able to watch it then I hope you check it out :)
This is an old abandoned colliery. It has been quite trashed in most parts, but some bits and bobs still worth seeing. The control room is probably the high light of the place.

Sad to see it like that. The last time I was at Castlebridge, I was at the bottom of that shafts. It was a hive of activity. It's a disgrace how the tories systematically destroyed British industry & the communities that grew around them.

I hear you Callum, our Pit was Shirebrook, closed in 1993, coal down that pit for at least another 30 years.

You've got to love watching a video like this and Google showing you an advert for multi-million pound mining equipment. Oh yeah, I forgot I was going to buy a £3 million JCB D10 dozer yesterday, I better go and purchase that now! Hey Tina, When you were there did you encounter any security because our team went there a few hours ago and spotted security in high visibility jackets from a distance when we were at the top of colliery on the balcony stairs, we managed to get out without being seen but there security 4x4 was at the entrance when we were leaving.

An amazing part of scottish coal mining history that is no more. This has sadly been demolished as it was beyond economical repair due to vandalism and theft
