Think you mean composting toilet. But if you're looking in the area maybe you get this place and property for back taxes owed to municipality? Or maybe elderly person passed no heirs. Change the appliances, clean, and redo the deck. Good chance for a deal...maybe.

Brent, you should seriously look into the current owner's status of that cabin. Sure it needs some work but, it will be a worthy investment for you. It's off grid sort of which is what you're looking for. Best wishes and good luck with an investigation about it.

The construction on that place is gorgeous. A huge shame for it to just be left abandoned like that. I hope it wasn't for a tragic reason. It could totally be fixed up and made into a really nice home, or at least a cottage.
@davidgreer1981
@davidgreer1981 Жыл бұрын
Of course it was a tragic reason. Someone loved the place, spent as much time there as they could, left the place one day thinking they would be back next week or next summer. Then they died. There are thousands of places like this, slowly melting into the forest floor. People build them, love them, and die.

What a shame it is abandoned. I did not see any sign of the roof leaking, that is was causes total destruction when water gets inside. It looks like it is still a good solid cabin. Should be worth a fair amount of money in it`s current condition. Somebody need to save this sweet cabin before it is too late, research through city / county records to find out who the owner is. Who knows, the owner may have died and had no family. It just seems nuts to leave it to rot away in years to come. Great video!

Things like this are reminders that nothing is forever. Whoever owned it closed the door one ordinary day, assuming they would be back, but there were no more tomorrows for them. They got too old to manage on their own, got sick, or just died suddenly. There is no other reason for it to be left in that condition, with food still in the cabinets, spare shoes ready to be slipped on. At least the place had been in use for a very a long time and so whoever put in the effort to build it got to enjoy it for years and years. Nobody bothers with the cost and hassle of interior propane lanterns like that these days, that long predates cheap LED bulbs/USB lights, so it was occupied for a lot of years before they had any power. While the deterioration is sad, the sadder ones are the ones that are half-built then abandoned. Somebody had a dream but then never lived to see it fulfilled.
