In case anyone was wondering, the song at the end is called "Sometimes I Die (Modern Love)" by Waterfront Dining. Also, apparently this song samples another song called "The Last One" by Ho Saï so I recommend checking out that song as well.

Toys R us will always hold a special place in my heart. I was born in 87 and it was a huge part of my childhood just like K B Toys. There's nothing like a 90s toy store

It's very rare to see a Circuit City that is still laying vacant AND one that hasn't been painted since its closing. There's a pattern with modern-day abandoned Circuit City stores where they will have new paint on them but no current owners, very rare to see how this one still has visible labelscars left behind!

Good day from Georgia. What a coincidence that you have Circuit City in this upload. I bought 3 old newspapers this week, that have their ads in them. I also have a K-Mart ad from a 1969 newspaper, that I wish you could see.

I recognize the facade of that Gander Outdoors! It indeed used to be an 80s era Walmart. The entrance used to be in the very middle.

I actually live here! Every Christmas I would go to that Toys R Us and donate to toys for tots. I came after Circuit City was far after closure though. I also lived here before the previous store at Gander Outdoors closed. It was not a Walmart. I cannot remember the name of the other store but it was also an outdoors store. There's literally a Walmart 2 Miles away in another plaza. The Gander Outdoors has also closed there. The Gander Outdoors has turned into a Planet Fitness. There still has not been a store to occupy the Circuit City and Toys R Us areas, and the toys r us marks have been power washed off, as well as the tiling has been removed.

Wallie!!! You're in my old stompin ground!! I was born n raised in Johnstown. To answer your question in the beginning, yes, that Gander was originally our (Johnstown's) non-super Wal-Mart. Johnstown never had a Sam's Club (though it was talked about). Wal-mart moved down to Theatre Dr. (the site of the closed and then demolished Richland Mall) ane became a Super Wal-Mart. I thank you for you hittin' up Johnstown. The Galleria and the outlying parcels are an abandoned man's heaven... with all the things that have closed there it's actually very sad, but for those that search em out, you included... it's heaven! :-) And if you're curious to know too.. I now live in Bridgeville ... the Old B.P. became a Mattress Warehouse (and is now open), and the Taco Bell that closed in Collier, in front of the old Kmart, is becoming a Chic-Fl-A. Keep up the great work!!!
@chadburkhart46035 жыл бұрын
If your curious, the Taco Bell closed because they didn't want to re-new the lease. It was expensive and the Taco Bell was jut about breaking even every month, and figured no sense to stay open, hence it closed.

Catching up on yours and other awesome videos. I always enjoy your videos whether they are three minutes or an hour. Too bad you can't get that entrance sign and see if you can put it on the entrance to your home. That would be so really cool. A motorcycle dealership would be something tangable for Circuit City. My neighboring City Bayonne was supposed to get a Circuit City then went bankrupt. They had this shell of a retail space and the owners freaked. Then WalMart decided to take the property, add some more retail footage and open a store, not as gigantic as Garbage Heights or other locations. But for me it's manageable. And it's busy. In my county I think my hometown is the only one that doesn't have WalMart. Good, they can stay away.

I haven’t lived in Johnstown since 1988, but the developers razed the old Richland Mall [check out its cool urban exploration online] and that Walmart, formerly at the Gander Mtn location, developed a new, incredibly larger shopping center where the old mall stood. That unfortunately triggered the decline of The Galleria mall where the Johnstown uploads of yours are located. To my understanding all of The Galleria’s anchor stores - Bon Ton, Penney’s, Sears, and one other [maybe Boscov’s?] - have left The Galleria and now it’s beginning to suffer the same fate as the old Richland mall had some decades ago. Needless to say you should soon be able to revisit Johnstown and create a LOT more UE videos in the near future. Thanks for these memories of my home town.

that TRU building design is common for most stores that were built in the late 70s / early 80s. The one in my hometown of Mesquite, Tx has the same exterior design of the rainbow tiles around the front and it opened up in 1978. It is now occupied by Ollie's like so many of the other old TRU's
@MikeyDAngelo2 жыл бұрын
the TRU in this video actually didn't open until the mid to late 90s! the mall it is next to opened in late 1992 and TRU didn't come to town for at least a few years after that. I remember impatiently waiting for one to open as a kid but by the time it finally had, I was sort of over it because I was a teenager or darn close (I still would go in there for playstation games, though).
