The last time I saw a Brockway truck was one at the shore that was used to put boats in the water. It had been painted silver and had a ton of rust. Looked like the cab was from the 30's. This was in the 60's when I was a kid. It pulled a large sling arangement that pulled boats out of the water from say around 30' to a maximum of around 50' or so. They would back over a large open area and bring the boat over the two large slings or lifting belts and raise the boat out of the water and take it a short distance in the parking lot so the captain or owner could repair propellers or paint the wooden hull like in the spring before the summer. That's when this large wooden boats were Money Pits! A ton of money and work getting them ready for the upcoming season! As a kid it was fun to watch. Then the reverse to put it back in the water.

I currently have a 72 Super parked in our 2 car garage next to my 440 Charger .........Sorry but a Super is a totally different vibe , feel and experience when I sit behind the wheel compared to a standard and esp a pre 68 standard. . You are correct , supers need love too , but I will need to reevaluate it's current resting quarters and get my Ghia back inside :).

You film in such detail. All big and small things that have nothing to do with a VW you film with such fine empathy. It makes the whole video exciting along with your narrator voice. The detailed filming inside the cars is so good. Like a real documentary. I think you are the best on KZbin to make movies about cars. Especially VW. Sweden, which is a cold country, got a special heating system in all imported VW. Water was heated in a vessel which sat above the manifold. Water was pumped with one electric pump into the car to a heating radiator that sat on the passenger side. The heat was regulated with a standard water tap that sat in between the front seats. The pump had an on and off switch on the dashboard. Best regards from Northern Europe! (excuse my bad English)

If you haven't looked it up already. the Brockway Motor Company was based in Cortland, New York. Those trucks are probably beyond saving, but they are interesting bits of New England history. I dare say the older Beetle is worth saving, in spite of it's condition, because once they meet the crusher, they're gone forever. Cheers and stay well.

Having a 67 ...those two switches....the washer and light switch are worth in the neighborhood of $250 . It’s what I was quoted for the ones I needed....just the knobs are pricy....like $100 pricy. Door latch screws are another for the purest. Believe it or don’t Latch covers, door handles, gee the list goes on and on....one year only stuff for the snobs. Original fenders, hood, deck lid One year only washer solvent bottle...the electric cover under the hood looks great! The complete wiring harness and all the electrics are very desirable....wiper motor...first year for 12 volt...but tiny body shafts....one year only. Fuse box and cover.. Take the steering column and door handles....call the key guy... mark 1 service... with the code on the handles...get a key cut....it will fit the ignition also. Sell the whole mess on Samba...column and door handles for 67 matched set with key $400 . 67 only vent glasses....maybe 65-67. Wheels are 66-67 only. Buy the 67 The rest are common.

Do you ever come out to the West? I can only imagine the bone yard's of bugs! In México my family still have their late 70's and 80's Puebla built Bugs! I rode in those when I lived in Guananjuato México. Here in Fresno California my High School buds fixed up their bugs in all kinds of configurations. My dad worked in the Chevrolet assembly plant in Detroit...so I favor GTO's, SS's Corvettes. That why I drove in my younger days. Great post!!!

The Brockway is probably about a 1957 model... could go a few years on either side, I don't know them well enough to be certain, they're quite rare and I've never seen one in person... not a 57 anyway. Probably wasn't born with that box on it, but they did make them similar to that, might be a Brockway box off another truck. The box trucks didn't get the little side glass. I'll wager there is somebody out there with the time, ability and money to restore it. Some of these old trucks when restored to original condition can be a real trick to drive. The transmissions didn't have synchros, you were the sinchro, you had to put in the clutch, take it out of gear, then let out the clutch, then put the clutch back in and try to match the revs to the speed you were going. This was known as double clutching. I think by 57 most had synchros, but don't know for sure. Even when I was young so long ago, double clutch trucks were rare. I did try to drive one old beat up one one time, and not knowing what I was doing, well it was a mess.
