The colours of pale blue and white in the attic were the colour scheme of the Co-op in the 70's and 80's and possibly even earlier. They had a pale blue square background with a white logo on it. That colour scheme was everywhere, from the staff uniforms to the dividend stamps books. Nowadays that's what is known as a rewards card! As soon as I saw those attic walls even after all these years my brain shouted 'Co-op'. Thanks for the upload 😊

My mum was a student back in the 70's at the Polytechnic, which is now the University. She did a drama course and one of the places they practised was in the old Co-op building where you did this Urbex. As a child I would go with her and wander off and explore myself. I can't really remember the inside much but I would imagine it was in much better condition than when you guys looked around, lol. In the 90's I worked as a taxi/mini-bus driver based in St. Georges Sq. in the centre of Huddersfield. On some quiet nights, me and one of my mates went exploring the old Victorian buildings in the Square. They go on for miles; or seem to!!

Storage heaters still exist today, I have brand new ones in my home out of choice, they are fantastic heaters when used properly & very economical. I would say those ones you saw are older than the ‘70’s. Really enjoyed your mooch about, you have a new subscriber 👍😎

The room at 8:18 is the former forst floor of the department store and was never part of heaven and hell. Through the arches was the Co-op cafe until it closed in July 1999.

That building holds so much history! Its sad to see it so derelict. Id love to know what Brown & Muffs and the old Sunwin house in bradford is like inside now! 😊 kirklees music school used to be on Northumberland street, I did all of my flute exams there and in batley!

Sunwin House is no longer abandoned it was supposed to open as a gym in Summer 2023 and an activity centre but that never happened part of the building is now a convenience store

@@exploringwithhenry7621 i think you could be wrong there.. the sunwin building has been closed since 2012 theres nothing in there at all atm im local to bradford and i go past it most days its still boarded off. The games centre they wanted builds not really ever come into fruition. Iv only ever known it as Sunwin was born 92 and went every friday with my grandma and great grandma

@kirstymoore3349 There is a newsagents open in there now on part of the ground floor at sunwin house and there was a furniture shop for a while in there earlier this year. Rackhams/ Brown Muff closed in 95 and was completely stripped, nothing much if anything remains inside from those days. The blind boxes above the display windows outside and one sign remains as a concession to history.

The end of the building was used for heaven and hell nightclub late 90s. Before that it was the music centre and we used to race radio control cars in there in the 80s.

I wondered why they fully boarded up this building recently. They must have seen your video.

I miss Wilko's, and I still miss Woolworth's. Both were great stores and it's a pity they went under. But such is the way of the world with monopolistic capitalism running rampant.

I walk past the wilko store in bognor where i worked there for 12 years all the time and looks exactly the same as shown in this video. Im really don't know why these stores haven't been taken over. The bognor store is still empty what would be a year next week. Maybe there in talks for wilko to re open? Might just be Wishful thinking

All these old Wilko stores could be fitted with hundreds of beds to store the asylum seekers instead of using nice hotels

Those standing fridges could be refurbished and put to use somewhere. It's shocking the stuff that companies/people throw away or just abandon.
