Just subbed ! This was interesting, and I like anything Historical & or old ! This really caught me, because I worked for several years, for the OLDest company in St. Louis ! ( You probably know them.. Schaeffer Mfg. Co, right down there, on the river.. Old man Nicholas Schaeffer was friends with old man Bush, yep..the brewery.. and had allredy been in business 20 yrs earlier ! 1839..They are still listed as one of first in BBB&Chamber Comm. in St.Louis..They made Black Beauty Axles Grease, for the Wagons & Pioneers, traveling West at the time, and Red River engine oil, for the Steamboats which were running up and down the Rivers! Now, they are all Specialty Products, Racing Oil, Ag. & more...( I am sure they would let you in, and tour, and more..they used to have a little Museum, at the front entrance ! ...That may make an awesome film for you, sometime in Future..They are great bunch of people, and family, in 6th generation now !!! Thanx for sharing this one.. Have fun, good travels, and "Let's Be Careful Out There" ! Oh.,.. And keep playing the music !

Pretty typical of our cities. And now with the political climate I wouldnt expect much help if you were to call for it. While we here of the overwhelming need for homeless housing, we allow structures that could have been a part of the solution to be abandoned to crime and vandalism. In Europe, they are still using buildings built hundreds, even more than a thousand years ago. Here, we cant use a building for even a hundred years. Built in 1927, abandoned in the mid 80's because of unsafe areas.
