I am from Belgium where this was filmed and would like to say a few words. First of al, thank you for the respect shown. Interiors and houses like this are all too familiar to me, it was the norm when I was young. Now everything is bland, cheap stuff from IKEA. Anyhow, the lady whose house you found here was quite the charachter. Her name was or is I. M. She must have been very "emancipated" before the word was invented for woman, as you can see she was very interested in dolls/dresses/artwork from that period. But interestingly enough she was also a professional finch keeper. Not pigeons as everyone assumed, but finches. An old and popular sport, everytime this little bird sang its tune ("Suskewiet"), a line would be made in a stick. She won many prizes with this until high age. Now it's a forgotten old sport, but it was very popular for a very long time. And yes, old people here never threw away anything. Everything was carefully kept as a memento which is why you see so many items in the houses. Sadly enough some people were there before with less noble intentions. That whole table setup is fake and done for photo purposes, those plates are decorative porcelain plates not meant for eating from. Anyhow, I very much enjoyed being teleported back into this time and era. Though I wish things were very different and Irma M. was there in full splendor taking care of her house. What a sad world we have cime to live in, where scenes like this are possible.

Hello, luv. Maybe I can explain what you’re seeing here. When my last surviving parent died, my 90 year old father, if I had just walked away his home would have looked like this, without the ransacking. But because we were a close family, my husband and I had been staying with my parents their last five years of life caring for them, they both had Alzheimer’s and died 16 days apart. Because we cared, we slowly emptied their home after they died, donating much of the clothing, furniture, kitchen appliances, bedroom and den furniture. Photos were divided between myself and my brother, with some aunts getting special items they cherished. There’s no way that I could have just walked away and let treasured memories disappear. My parents had a long and happy life, that is how I remember them now six years after they passed. Annie in Tennessee 💕

blonde lebanese bless y’all’s hearts , I too could never leave me parents/ grandparents belongings behind, vandals will eventually find this place....it is heart breaking to see so much valuables left behind, pictures are irreplaceable and in this house there are tons....I have to ask, what valuables were left hidden in this amazing home. They may have gone missing in a freak accident, who knows...but still, someone (a telltale sign is from the amount of pictures, old and newer looking) would have reported them missing, if that were the case...idk, there is more to this story that people simply walking away...sad 💔

Beautiful story and it is marvelous how you came in during their last five years and they could stay at home. They felt much more comfortable having you with them. Parents do not want to be a burden to their children and often though they leave for this or that reason and the parent have a home full of loved and precious items and cannot move or feel they cannot. They do not want to lose everything they have loved. It is work for them too and often by the time they need to move they are getting to lold and they are not well enough to do all that work. But this is usually what happens to t hem and if the children do not care about the house or anything in it and /or just do not want to bother with the work of it either, they will let it go to the state. So no one wins. If the home was not placed in any of the families names many years ( It was five but now it is more years, in some places anyway, then the house returns to the State if not given to a family member to go to them after death to take care of the contents and sell or move into it. ) So then the State may let it sit there and not be sold. It just goes down, or it gets taken down once the state gets to it.

I've known many older people with no children. If someone ended up in a nursing home, died etc. there may not be anyone to take care of the property for quite some time. Some children may hate their parents and not want anything to do with them. I've known a few of those as well. So you never know. A house can sit in foreclosure and under an estate for years. A house in my neighborhood literally sat abandoned until the roof and walls fell in and mold was smelled by next door neighbors. The town wouldn't touch it for 5 years because they were "afraid" of lawsuits related to the family estate. It was finally torn down and the lot sold and rebuilt on.

In Belgium - part of the electric is free up to a certain amount. The only reason this would happen is there has been a fatal accident for the owners. If no one is left like a child then the home will sit unattended. Sad. We know how you and ghosties get along. The home was someone's pride and joy. It is beautiful. Unfortunately mold has started. Some of the rooms have been trashed. Seems they traveled a lot and collected a lot from those travels. Quite a few older women will wear wigs as their hair has thinned out. That pantry is WILD!

just a tad of info on, *milking a pigeon* Crop milk is a secretion from the lining of the crop of parent birds that is regurgitated to young birds. It is found among all pigeons and doves where it is referred to as pigeon milk. Pigeon milk is a fantastically wholesome food and squabs reared entirely on this diet show a phenomenal postnatal growth rate. It is, however, not produced in great quantities by the parent birds, which is thought to be the reason why usually only two eggs are laid.,, In order to explore the benefits of pigeon milk on the young, researchers fed the milk to baby chickens to see how they benefited from it. They found that after 7 days, the milk-fed chickens were around 12.5% heavier than the non-milk-fed control group and were also expressing different genes in the gut associated lyphoid tissue (where the immune system and the gut come into contact). Milk fed chickens had a much greater expression of the immunoglobulin IgA than the non milk fed, as shown in the graph below: As well as affecting the immune system, feeding pigeon milk to the chickens also changed the composition of bacteria within the chicken cecum (a part of the gut). Pigeon milk fed chickens had a much greater bacterial diversity, at both phylum and genus levels. Unsurprisingly, milk fed chickens contained bacteria found within the pigeon milk (originally produced to go inside little pigeons) although not all of the bacteria present in pigeon milk had managed to survive in the chickens.

I love to read old menus and often come across dishes that were once very popular but that I have never heard of. I saw the milk chicken on a menu from the '40s or '50s. The menu was from a mob owned gambling club called the Beverly Hills Country Club in Kentucky. It closed in the '60s and reopened in the '70s as the Beverly Hills Supper Club. It was a huge place that had a big show room and booked top starts to perform there. It was the site of a deadly fire in 1977, killing well over 100 people.

Wonderful new intro . Your tours are very respectful and full of insight. Here in America property owners must pay real estate taxes, yearly. If not paid the government puts a lien on your property, and can auction it off. How are these houses not claimed by the government , and left for dozens of years with all the property intact.??? Btw I have seen antique furniture, paintings, books and other household items worth a fortune in some of these houses. Left to rot... I don’t understand this at all . Please explain. So perhaps it was not placed into anyone's name many years ahead, so when they passed, others they trusted would be able to take it over, or sell it, and either keep or clean the home out. In some places the government will auction the house and all contents off, If they finally get to it, and not too late) Otherwise, it is left like this until it will deteriorate. This looks like the owners were very Christian and loved their Lord very much, They were a bit strict but loving and kind. They had money but evidently were some conservative in their views of life and how people live. This is how it looks to me anyway,

What a charming home but why the trashed rooms? The crosses above the doors are to bless all that enter or leave. 😉

Hi Dave, at 17:03 after you said there was "dark looking stuff in this place", then I could hear a bell ringing, like an alarm clock alarm ringing, weird. Amazing how much we collect throughout our lives, apparently pigeon milking is a real thing, who on earth thought up that one 😂🤔. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx💖

What a lovely surprise to find your new vid this morning. Beautiful as you entered and then the rest looked like it had been ransacked. I wonder if kindly neighbours went in and cleaned up those two perfect rooms! Lovely intro too!

At 19:02-6, if you didnt bump it with your head, the mini chandelier had only 1 of the crystals moving! Paranormal activity? Lights flicker, something thrown......something bad happened here. And it's so weird that some rooms are pristine, others hoarder looking. Makes me wonder how many people have gone before you..... Thanks for taking me along!

How can you tell a property is actually abandoned? What if you're wandering through someone's home and they may be on an extended holiday, in hospital etc.? You can't assume based on appearance. Someone may be a hoarder or not have the funds to properly fix up their property. Just curious how you find out about locations of abandoned areas. No criticism just curiosity. Love the show.

The drink still not evaporated, the location abandoned for less than month or maybe the area is freezing 🥶

I had the most unusual dream last night,I was staying with Dave and his family and we were supposed to go on an explore somewhere but his Dad had serious reservations and suggested we stay in and play backgammon. We ended up sneaking out and going to the Cooper Arms for some drinks and watching Peaky Blinders on the telly.

I do family trees. These homes are so sad to me. And the pictures. Was there no one to care about the family or history? Or the accomplishments? I cannot fathom not loving your family history, good or bad, usually difficult.

I kinda fell asleep while watching earlier, oops! It's just so calming to me watching your videos. The vases throughout the house were so pretty and appeared to be in pristine condition, I wish I had a couple of them! 21:35 I see poppy on top of the oven. That was a great hiding spot! I love the light at the scene transitions. Just when I think your videos cant get any better, they do!! You never cease to amaze me, Dave! Thank you for everything you put into these videos, I truly appreciate it and I know everyone else does as well. 💜

View master is what we call it. They have been around forever! I have my mominlaws from when she was little and she would be 93. Awesome video! I don’t get how people just leave things, so strange.

If someone had got into that house and ransacked some of the upstairs rooms why did they leave gold rings on the table down stairs
@luciedey-coughlin3374 жыл бұрын
hasn't been ransacked.Sometimes when people get dementure or depressed, they let some rooms go and use em for storage and it gets outta control
