I love how the South is getting played. We grew up on all this ('85 Baby). Pimp and Bun both went hard...Bun blacked out on this one 🔥🔥

Pimp C was more of a Producer, he produced most of UGK’s hits himself, and he sings most of their Hooks too. Bun was always the better MC, but Pimp C is mentioned more because of how Controversial, Iconic, and Uncensored he was. He basically was exposing all the big rappers and the Industry before he died….But he also was a Flashy Guy as well lol😂💯

Great video and commentary. This song and in particular Buns verse... This is my opinion... Is Buns best work and can stand toe to toe with pretty much anyone. Go look at the lyrics.. Bun snapped! T.I. has a video breakdown of this exact verse, check it out. This song let the world know country rap tunes were nothing to be taken lightly.

You pause it a little too much for me. You should take it back each time you pause it because when you start it back, it messes up the flow.

They were not on the come up, when they did that song. They were Texas Millionaires. We take care of our own down here. Houston, TX is not the Country. It's the Wild Wild South. Big Pimping Made Them Wealthy For Ever

Yes they were technically . This was 1996 and wasn’t really known outside the south. Big Pimpin ain’t come til 2000 and that’s what made got them the mainstream views

@@aaronremo5472 Again... They didn't need UGK/Out Kast Big Pimping. Yes it was good for the Bank Account but the Gheto Boys actually put Htown Rap on the Map, with the song, " My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me. New York DJ's played the Gheto Boys up there more than Magic 102 and 97.9 the Box did down here. Even though they were so called Black Radio Stations. I know the History well because I grew up in Sunnyside Houston Texas with the majority of those 80's and 90's artists who lived in the same Hood. No need to explain anything about that life to me. But study on brother it's a interesting journey indeed.

@@stiffpeter1771 I wasn’t talking about the ghetto boys, I was talking about UGK. Of course UGK was known in the south but I’m talking about them being known outside the connections that they made specifically. Pimp was a huge Tupac fan but pac didn’t know of him until face played him “One Day”

@@aaronremo5472 I'm familiar with with Van Fleet. I had a xgal who lived on St Lo back in the day. Not to far from Jones High School. Ghetto Boys paved the way for all Htown Rapper's. Without a 🤷🏿♂️ doubt. Yes UGK did their thing but nobody gave a rats azz about Southern Rapper's until Bushwick, Scarface and Willie D hit the scene. RIP DJ Reddy Red . Gheto Boys first DJ. Big Pimping helped the pockets, but it is by far not there best work. Jay-Z and UGK... aight I guess. But UGK/Outkast = Hood masterpiece. Good talking to you bro. Small World. All I want to do is Bang Screw. Stay up Chief 👍😁
