When starting up Abaqus, I do not have the CFD Model Option, Why?. I am using 2020 version

For my coursework of 1D, 2D and 3D analysis of cantilever beam, I am getting similar stress value (4.9 e3) for 2D and 3D. But for 1D analysis, I am getting a smaller value(1.5 e2). I suppose this is wrong and I don't understand why. Could you help me out with this, please?

How about the displacement? Have you got more or less the same displacement for all three cases?

@@h.aisrar1344 hi I got similar displacements now but difference in stress values in 1D, 2d and 3d

Thank you for that! I have 1D dynamic simple shear problem, I need to verify governing equations using an initial displacement in the form of smooth Gaussian and the result should satisfy the classical D’Alembert solution, bar is rigid from both ends as BCs. I tried initially with one dynamic step and then with 2 steps static with displacement as a BC and dynamics with the above BCs with no success, can you help me out on this? Thank you in advance!

It is a bit challenging when we are dealing with a dynamic wave problem. Many things have to be considered. The governing equations specifically designed for dynamic wave problems in Abaqus seem not available. You can use the Abaqus documentation, there are several steps that need to be done when dealing with the dynamic wave problem. Maybe 1st, You can try to refine your mesh size. 2nd, create dynamic steps with an appropriate time period. Then, in the Edit Step dialog box, click the Other tab, set the Quadratic bulk viscosity parameter to 0.
