Hey, if I wanna have a torsion of a beam, can I just use your method with choosing 2 x RP's on opposite sites and two loads?

can you show procedure of encased stone column in abaqus

Thank you for the great tutorial. It was very clear and useful. I have a question: If I want to analyze an assembly like a bolted joint and If I'm interested in simulating of bolt preload needed to attach the assembly. The procedure is the same? Thak you in advance!

Thanks much! I would never have figured to make the kinematic coupling to get moment working on a face. Why Abaqus requires the moment only on a point, I don't know. Cheers!
@dpsdigitalproductsimulatio76469 жыл бұрын
+DiscLauncher You are welcome. There are several ways to apply a moment, (for instance, concentrated forces applied at different corners of some part will eventually create a moment...). In the video, a "concentrated" moment has been chosen. "Concentrated" means the final support of the moment will be a node (therefore, a point in an Abaqus/CAE associative model)

Hi, Why the top twisted a lot but after a small distance below that the rotation UR2 is very small (close to 0). TIME: 11'40'' This can be seen by looking at the contour colour and querying the UR2 values at points. I ran it and got the same problem Thanks for your video!
@dpsdigitalproductsimulatio76468 жыл бұрын
You are welcome Good question! Because the model is composed of solid elements (C3D8R), post-processing the rotational degrees of freedom is useless in fact. The best is to post-process the translational degress of freedom (U, Magnitude)

Hi, i have the same elements as you used, but I cant run the analysis. It says that Im missing 4-6 DOF. How can I pass this problem? what do u mean by " The best is to post-process the translational degress of freedom (U, Magnitude)"?

@@dpsdigitalproductsimulatio7646 Hi, So how do I get actual contour of "the angle of twist" ,btw ,thanks for the video & reply. My situation: I can get the right answer of the angle of twist, but it only shows at the surface where I put a torsion on it(the same as your video UR2)

thank you so much.. this is very helpful for beginner, just like me But i have a question , how to get the input file for the job? did you create it or can we just download it? thanks
@dpsdigitalproductsimulatio76468 жыл бұрын
You are welcome No input file is available to be downloaded () Anyway, if you can follow the video step by step and create the same model, you would be able to generate the input file by yourself from Abaqus/CAE (in the Job module, after creating a job... Job -> Write Input)

What kind of elements are you using? Abaqus tells me that there is an error due to degrees of freedom being wrong

read the others comments, i think it's C3D8R
