Abarinding (1954): DZAQ-TV Scenes

Extracts from the 1954 LVN Picture film "Abarinding", directed by Jose Climaco. The clips feature the DZAQ-TV/Alto Broadcasting System studios at Republic Supermarket, a capture of a television monitor, and the DZAQ control room. This would be one of, if not, the oldest capture of Philippine television on a cinematic film.
The film premiered on June 1954, just 9 months after the introduction of television in the Philippines.

What a coincidence! DZAQ TV (now DWWX TV)'s TV network, ABS-CBN, currently owns this film and all the LVN films as ABS-CBN Film Restoration is responsible for the restoration of the LVN library.

Abarinding was the first Filipino Film has a Television where in the Philippines was the first in Asia to broadcast television and this scene was believed the oldest footage on television 😊😊

It’s not even an actual TV show. It’s simply a movie scene simulating/reenacting a TV show, in a real-life TV studio. Kaya hindi siya “PHTV clip” per se. Dami namang na-excite masyado.
