I think the price of electric cars will be set against the level of demand. Subsequently if take-up drops below target then prices will drop until sales reach planned levels. (Currently though it seems demand for Electric vehicles is still 35% higher than originally expected by 2023)…

You’re all missing the point. It’s electric. That means it’s a greener lifestyle choice. Clearly not for most of you here. The idea is to cut emissions and encourage more responsible choices in our lives. Why anyone would want a petrol gas guzzler is beyond me!! I had a Competizione and this is way better. The old Abarth was getting long in the tooth, dated looks, 5 speed, low tech generally. My only gripe is I wish they’d retained the Brembo brakes/perforated discs as they just looked the part.

I’ve had both, Competizione and now the 500e. Would never go back to the 595. Design wise it’s seen better days. Inside by comparison it’s just awful with outdated tech and instrumentation. Half you lot here living in yesterday’s world trying to spin that Windows 98 was way better than the the current iMac. This new Abarth is a premium product. Unless you’ve sat in it, driven it, lived with it you really don’t know what you’re talking about.

My Fiat 500 1.2 Fire engine can be faster. 100mph (gps). Yes, 10 minutes to reach that speed, but you know... 69hp engine. The 1.2 sounds good also, al least it's a real petrol engine sound. Bring back the old Abarth, please 😢
