Nice chanell, do you Think is it posible to swap evo abarth punto front bumper to grande punto?
@Drivewaybuildz5 ай бұрын
@@kwascytrynowy Thanks. you can but i believe the headlights are a different shape so they need to be changed aswell. possibly some plugs for lights aswell but can't remember off the top of my head. try joining a Punto abarth facebook group and asking on there. someone will have done it for sure.

Bought a Fiat Grande Punto 1.3L Multijet, and for someone who wants to work on a stock GP its awfull, aint no place to work on performance mods bcs everything is cramed inside the engine bay. Im having trouble finding nice parts for optical mods like spoilers, body kits, stuff like that. So please make more vids about it!

isn't it bad to put spacers in to the front? doesn't it mess with the stock factory calculations about the car? also what's that thing called that keeps the boost up during shifts?
@Drivewaybuildz4 жыл бұрын
It is'nt bad to have spacers on the front aslong as they are not too wide. 20mm i would say is the maximum. Its also important to have wider spacers on the rear ie 20mm front and 25mm rear. Another common set up is 16mm front 20mm rear. The thing that holds the boost is called a GFB dv+ valve. This is only applicable to the evo (multiair) if you have a grande (T-jet) I would suggest the Forge blow off valve doing a similar job recirculating boost. I hope this helps. Thanks for your comment. 👍
@Gagliano174 жыл бұрын
@@Drivewaybuildz the forge blowoff valve blows it back in to the intake? Also i have 25mm spacers in the back, the punto looks awfull without it, my dad said something about front spacers doing bad things to the handling hence why i asked
@Drivewaybuildz4 жыл бұрын
@@Gagliano17 There is a couple of different types. You can get specific Blow off valves which make the noise of decipation into the atmosphere or you can get recirc valves which release the pressure back into the turbo holding boost. Bonalume is a popular one. Maybe best to ask in Abarth punto collective for what is best, As i know more about the evo than the grande. 👍 As for spacers your dad is correct to a certain degree. I would'nt recommend just having spacers on the front as that would throw the track off the car off. Another reason it would'nt be a good idea is stance guys putting 40mm spacers on the front and having wide wheels because they have flared arches, then going on a trackday you can end up doing a thing called 'tram lining' where you turn the wheel in a fast corner but you get extreme under steer and keep going straight. But if you go for a modest setup like we discussed earlier it is perfectly fine. I have done a trackday with this setup and had no issues. If anything this setup made the car feel more planted as the track of the car was made wider and made it feel like it had a lower centre of gravity and reduced roll in the corners to a certain degree. 👍
@Gagliano174 жыл бұрын
@@Drivewaybuildz From what it looks, the grande punto already has a recirculation valve stock, the forge one just adds the blowoff noise aswell. but it wont keep the turbo spooled up, mine spools up fast but that's due to ecu tuning, i'd like something as your GFB dv+ that actually holds the boost, shame it wont work with the t-jet
@Drivewaybuildz4 жыл бұрын
@@Gagliano17 I'm not 100% with the T-jet but does the bonalume not work similar to the gfb DV+?

Tail lights and Headlights i believe were £120 by a wrapping guy i know. Front indicators and fog lights i did myself with tint spray so £10 ish. Side indicators are around £20 online as a whole unit plug and play, not actually tinted. 👍

for someone running a KZbin channel about their abarth i'd recommend to make a google spreadsheet where all the parts/upgrades/prices are listed, on like a google doc public for people to see, i have one for my abarth, here take this as an example: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lz16VBP4W_5meC5UaxcoNxEprXIFJLqB1W9E-pcYtCU/edit#gid=0

Beautiful car mate, how you finding the power? What’s the hybrid capable of power wise as I’m running a 1446 and was hoping to get around 230ish maybe a little less myself! All the best
@Drivewaybuildz4 жыл бұрын
Jamie R Thanks mate. yeah its a good hybrid. its enough power for now. very manageable on track. capable of 260-270bhp. running 233bhp/ 260lbft currently. just isnt the best map atm. looking to get a cam and new map from mt&d at some point to get closer to those numbers. stock gt1446 can safely go 210-220. any more than that you would need to go hybrid or just a bigger turbo like a td04 or gtx2860.
@jamier82104 жыл бұрын
I use to have a t-jet running 245 with a td04 a few years back and missed it so started again in lockdown on another build! might have to look into the hybrid route, any idea on costs to hybrid my unit? Or best to get a new one? I’m sure I’ve seen a few company’s but don’t fancy the 1.5k price haha
@Drivewaybuildz4 жыл бұрын
Jamie R to buy a new unit your looking at 1-2k depending what company. i sent my old gt1446 to AET turbos to be made hybrid. got it back within the week and all in price was 1k. Google AET VT260R turbo. very good quality work. 👌
