Iam a true follower of Mbanqanga masterpiece. This song and Udlala ngami have a different impact on me, partly becoz he has passed on ad partly becoz the songs herald a different genre with soul searching lyrics and rythms. David Masondo remains my best ever. Watever he sang about he remains my best. The instruments here remind me of the impending death awaiting us all. Zimbabwe will miss David Masondo and his mature music that united the whole of Africa. This soulful song is irresistable. RIEP
started listening to this great music in the early 1980s. david masondo was my hero and i always prayed that one i will shake his hands. that combination with moses ngwenya was just out of this planet. they were just great MHSRIP. Elias Zambia

It was a big blow & the first song which came in my mind was "HAMBA NTOMBI" it made me travel back to the past. l remember this song as it was yesterday when I was a little boy so we used to dance it. It was the first song for Soul Brothers that I listened to & at the first time I thought it was performed by women because of their voices. And my uncle who was a miner told me that it is a group band from South Africa constituted by men. Anyway, from that day on, I started to listen to soul brothers. Every time I listen to David Masondo, I imagine someone who can comes and tell me that what you have heard about Masondo's death, is a merely lie he is still alive. But it is just an illusion. Only God knows how, when and who to take when the time comes. Rest in peace grandpa.

+Alfredo Nyar I share similar sentiments with you regarding Soul Brothers. In Kampala, Uganda my dad listened to this great music. I came to appreciate the music more in the 2010s. He lives a legacy. I am humbled knowing him and listening to his music (even though I dont understand 98% of the words). Love from Uganda
