💖💕💚💕In my opinion, this Abba masterpiece is - number one in presenting the opulence of these two beautiful vocals.. A lot has been said about the purpose of this song for all the children of the world, and especially for the children of Latin America (where is it always, and especially then in the 60s and 70s, been shaken by many political crises, and the poverty-stricken population and of course - children were the most affected; that's why the title of the song is in Spanish and such a specific title): 🤔 man ( 'hombre' ) affectionately referred to in Spanish - chico (in English, for example - dude, buddy; friend is 'amigo') woman ( 'mujer' ) affectionately referred to - chica, girl or younger woman ( 'niña' or 'mujer más joven' ) affectionately referred to - chiquita, female child ( 'bebé hembra') affectionately referred to - chiquitita So, the emphasis here is that we are addressing someone with affection (and not in the diminutive form - little woman, little man, little boy) - but the English language has fewer words and expressions than most other languages

I'm so glad to see you finally reaction to these special ABBA songs for latín american ABBA fans several things to say about "Chiquitita" (1979) Chiquitita" means 'little girl' (with affection) in spanish And the melody have a spanish tune, specialy by the acustic guitar But the center is the wonderful piano, like almost all ABBA songs "Chiquitita" is a beautiful song, it has hopeful lyrics, a melody that starts very soft with the blonde Agnetha's solo, then grows and explodes in a powerful chorus; Agnetha & Frida's vocal harmonies are of excellence It allows us to check how excellent singers the blonde Agnetha & the brunette Frida are and what harmonies of excellence they achieve. It stands out especially when they stretch the monosyllables with great quality and beauty "Chiquitita" was premiered especially for the UNICEF Concert (January 9, 1979, just 45 years ago!) and its royalties are eternal for UNICEF "Chiquitita" was ABBA's greatest success in Latin America, that prompted ABBA to record it in Spanish, and its success was so extraordinary that in the following year ABBA recorded a full album with their best songs entirely in Spanish ("Chiquitita" in Spanish is the biggest ABBA hit in My country Argentina) Chiquitita" is in the Top 3 of all ABBA worldwide biggest hits, with 'Dancing Queen" and "Fernando", and it's a fantastic Masterpiece These official video was filmed in Swizterland 1979 (ABBA goes for a TV Special) It's the only promotional video that ABBA made without Sweden I think that, in these special song I suggest you to react the spanish version there aré two videos in KZbin with ABBA performing "Chiquitita" in spanish at Spain 1979. (they sung in spanish only by phonetic) GOD bless you and stay safe My best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South América

Agnetha's and Frida's gentle vocals.Still an oasis of kindness,tenderness, an eternal refuge of consolation,no matter how many years have passed.

Great song and reaction thank you. One of my favorites from ABBA. The ending piano section has gone viral on tik tok. Yes I guess this was outside for real. Love how Frida keeps fighting her hair as it seems to have a life of it's own lol. The hair always wins. ABBA donated the proceeds from this song to UNICEF And to this day they recieve the royalties. Frida is still a UNICEF ambassador. what I want to know is how they got that piano up on that mountain lol. On this TV special in Switzerland they were also shown skiing. Have you done Fernando yet? Another great one. Try the official music video. Take care

This was from 1979, the BBC in UK made a tv special called ABBA in Switzerland, it took place in a very bit marquee tent with a big audience, most of the show was ABBA singing songs from their new album at the time (easter 79) ,they had a few special guests on as well, some filming of ABBA around the ski resort where it took place, its on KZbin, that's why they sing this song in front of a snowman

Great reaction. Yes they are on a mountainside in Switzerland for the ABBA in Switzerland special. You watch Frida battling against the hair blowing into her face. Usual great vocals from the ladies.

And doing it with a beautiful smile on her face while poor Agnetha looked half froze to death. They put modern Diva's to shame, they were more natural, better looking and far more relatable and joyful.

Yes, 'poor Agnetha'🥺🤒 should have dressed warmer (Frida is in a warm fur coat), but I still think she seemed like she's frozen for some completely different reasons 💔(emotional reasons,😭 her divorce from Bjorn) It's sweet to me too, watching Frida fight the wind, but I still think the cameraman should have taken a break (one minute is enough - for Frida to put on some kind of hair clip, or at least to switch places with Agnetha: her hair was held by glasses) - but instead - the cameraman did the exact opposite: he focused the camera on Frida (so I guess that's why Frida was uncomfortable and that's why there was that smile (truth, a beautiful smile🥰💥) - because she was shamefaced, in an innocent (very touching) way.. 🤫💋 That's why I've been listening to many haters attack this video for years, because they think it distracts from the lyrics of the song.. and in fact - they are just looking for excuses to criticize

Wow.. 🤐I know I'm going to be boring now, but still: 🤓 In our country (ex -Yugoslavia: Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia...) the words in our languages are written as they are literally pronounced (so we don't have such pronunciation problems) - this was a revolutionary language reformation (epochal discovery) carried out here in the 19th century... I think it is unique in the world, but - about it is little talked about in scientific circles (and it is even less known in the general public).. for those who are more interested, google Vuk Karadzic (he collaborated with brother's Grimm and other greats of that era) P.S. In short - he reformed the language (he also reformed and the alphabet in Serbia) on the basis of this principle - "Write literally the way you speak, and read literally the way it is written" - (so, every ONE voice has only ONE letter of its own - one voice: one letter) - it's not complicated for you to understand what I'm explaining here, on the contrary - it's quite simple.. That's it, your comment is witty, comical Maybe and this one will be fun for someone (and besides that, he finds out something he's not interested in.. 😬 )

The snowman wasn't a backdrop. This was a Christmas special that they filmed at the Leysin village ice-rink in Leysin, Switzerland. Footage showed them in a variety of spots around the park performing songs. The main performance was under a tent-like venue. What I did not learn until looking up info, the show was broken up into 4 specials. Some featuring other artists, such as Kate Bush, Roxy Music, and Boney M.
@miroslavgacevic4095 күн бұрын
well.. I still think the snowman is there for a reason, because this song is especially intended for a UNICEF concert and besides - 1979 was declared the International Year of the Child - and the UN headquarters for Europe is in Switzerland (Geneva)
