It was probably taken down by SVT, the Swedish Public Broadcasting who filmed and owns the official rights to the gala. They are usually not fussy though, could have been KZbin too which is far more strict.

What I love about this video is how the band is constantly looking at the Royal box and smiling every time there is a "king" or "queen" mentioned in the lyrics. 🙂 And yes, this is on the eve of the King's wedding, so queen-less Sweden was just about to get a new Queen. Great song selection from ABBA. Could only be better if Freddie and his boys were there as well. :D :D

I knew ABBA was big in the world with its sound, but seeing so many people get touched by their music really does me a stir in my soul! When they made their breakthrough in the 1970s, the media did not exist in this way as it does today. When I look at different reactions, I get warm in my heart and have little hope for humanity. That when the music can unite is incredibly wonderful. If any group can do this, it's ABBA with its catchy music. Greetings from Sweden!

I was 12 years old and watched this on TV. There were opera singers and a lot of classical music - and ABBA. They were stars in Sweden already, but other countries had not discoverd them yet.

A cool performance all things considered and a very precious clip, should be an official one but it's owned by SVT which filmed it. It was part of a gala performance in honour of and tribute to the Queen to be and our monarchy, I remember watching it live as a child. ABBA's song at the Swedish Royal Opera House was most likely the only non classical music bit of it so that's why it's a little bit stiff. We have a very modern monarchy, a performance today would have been way more creative. Another thing to keep in mind - ABBA was not very well received by a very politically left political climate in Sweden at the time, they were regarded as too commercial and pop was a capitalist thing to some🙄 ABBA was never really big in Sweden so that's why the group was so happy (and surprised) the new songs were so well received by the Swedish audience. It was the first time Queen Silvia met ABBA, she has been close friends with Annifrid/Frida ever since. Speaking about nobility and monarchy - Annifrid/Frida came from very difficult beginnings and is today Princess Anni-Frid, Dowager Countess of Plauen, also the richest in the group. Madonna did a one time MTV performance in similar costumes, I always wondered if she was inspired by this performance because she's a big ABBA fan. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooXEiaeNjLdkbKM

Another comment I give to You two request: 1) the First live perfomance and worldwide premier of "Waterloo", in the Eurovision Song Contest at UK in April 6 (1974), when ABBA win between 17 songs of all Europe, and begin to be famous: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXfWh5iDr5Z5a8U 2) the First live perfomance and worldwide premier of "Chiquitita", in the Concert for Unicef at United Nations (U.S.) in January 9 (1979), when ABBA donated their royalties to UNICEF in the 'International Year of the Childs' kzbin.info/www/bejne/noivm4Spe7yLmMk I think that these two, with the perfomance of Dancing Queen to the Swedish Kings, are the three Most Important act of ABBA history
