ABBA are their own managers...the guys usually arrange and set up everything...like with this reunion, the guys agreed to do all the publicity, while the girls just stayed out of the limelight. ABBA's assets and intake of funds have always been 25% each...always has been, always will be; no matter if reunited or not. And as far as this song goes, ABBA themselves stated on their Instagram; that just like they had done with "Chiquitita" back in 1979, all proceeds and royalties from this song will go to UNICEF, a charity that is close to the groups heart...Hope that helps clear it up some.

There are some spectacular new songs on the album like „I Can Be that Woman“, „No Doubt About it“ or „Keep an eye on Dan“. We need your reactions to those.

First time to hear this song. Its so cute and adorable. It reminds me of the video of Queen (The Miracle - using teen boys imitating the band). Good to see kids/ younger generation with this video. Nice concept . Sweet song. And True, younger generation should not forget bands that brings great music like - ABBA! Classic 🙂 Thank you for nice reaction.

This is written for UNESCO to pass all profits for the song to the children's fund, the same as they did for Chicitita. Benny's grandson is one of the children in performance as well.

"Little things" (2021) it is a very soft melody with a nice reflection on Christmas morning is one of the simplest songs on the new album Voyage Frida sings it sweetly and at the end the Stockholm Children's Choir joins (as in 1979 in the song "I have a dream") The video is conceptual. The Children, more accustomed to technology, are shown using it to capture ABBA's musical spirit, and imitate them in their future 'ABBAtars' project It is especially beautiful to see the look of the girl captivated by the image of Agnetha in the official ABBA video of "Chiquitita" ABBA decided to edit this video and release it as a Christmas single, as part of a campaign for UNICEF As with "Chiquitita" in 1979, ABBA decided to donate its royalties to UNICEF a good suggestion is to do the reaction to the single before "Just A Notion" (1978/2021)

Thanks for the ABBA. Benny wrote the music for "I still Have faith in you" way back. When they decided to do new songs (was only going to be two at the beginning) Bjorn said he knew the lyrics had to be about them. As covid hit and everything kept getting delayed they just kept adding songs. I think reunion really is the right word. They hadn't worked together in so long and it was fun. Their all really proud of this album. It was all done on their terms as life finds them now. This song "Little Things" is such a sweet little Christmas song. Like the kids sing at the end "like my Grandma sings". They've also donated profits from it to UNICEF for ever like they did with "Chiquitita". That song over the decades has been a major funding source for UNICEF. Think I got all that right if not other fans feel free to correct me.

Björn & Benny always write a song together, Benny the music and Björn the lyrics. And yes, "I still have faith in you" was written at the beginning of the idea to come back with 2 songs for the ABBAtar shows.

Beautifully done and sung by children too. It is amazing to see how ABBA can also reunite the new generations into their music and legacy. 👍❤ Awesome on point reaction Hap. Thank you for today's ABBA Voyage with us.

The melody for I Still Have Faith In You was first released in 2015 on a film soundtrack by Benny. However he thought it was far too good to be lost on a flop of a film so he reused it for ABBA.

Yes, as the line at the end „If you sing along, it could be a song, that my grandma sings“ is exact the feeling I had too 🎶. Just lovely 🥰. Have you seen this? LITTLE THINGS like children that are so immersed with their mobiles, which are suddenly dropping it down for something else and start to get creative to build up their own show after watching the docu on TV🤩. Nice thought 🥰. Thank you HAP for this fantastic song VOYAGE today 🥰😊🙋🏻‍♀️.

Aww, that was the sweetest ABBA song I've heard. All the children so excited and intrigued with what they and there young dreams can become one day. This song was like ABBA passing on their musical life experiences to the new generations of the future, and saying farewell to their fans.

Listen to “I Can Be That Woman” from the new album. It’s very raw and lyrically ingenious. Many people liken it to “The Winner Takes it All” but there is such a greater level of self awareness….and guilt….and regret. Agnetha conveys such weariness in her voice, and deep resignation as she offers an olive branch of hope without sounding at all hopeful. It is so masterfully done. Goosebumps

ABBA Never do anything in the group name unless all four members agree to it, and make no mistake they have managed their legacy since 1982 with meetings to discuss any use of the ABBA name. These days their all happy doing their own things but when they came together when the idea of a new ABBA Live show was muted, knowing none of them wanted to be back on stage, they embraced technology to persue the 'ABBAtar' project. Ludvig Andersson, Benny's son is very involved with the decision taking and promotion. Gorel Hanser is ABBA's manager in the traditional sense of the word, handling their day to day correspondance and planning. in 2016 the group reunited twice in Sweden, and later that year British manager Simon Fuller announced in a statement that the group would be reuniting to work on a new 'digital entertainment experience'. The first new ABBA recordings happened in 2017. On 27 April 2018, all four original members of ABBA made a joint announcement that they had recorded two new songs, 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don't Shut Me Down'. Andersson and Ulvaeus rejected Fuller's project the same year, and instead partnered with visual effects company Industrial Light And Magic' to prepare the ABBAtars for a music video and a concert, masterminded with Baillie Walsh. The the pandemic hit. In someways that was a catalyst to a full album being recorded and created a shield of privacy as well as a lot of delays to the project. Personally, I think its worked out as pretty good timing as were now in the 50th Anniversary year of the recording of the first real ABBA song, 'People Need Love' in March 1972. The ABBA women have chosen to remain out of the publicity cycle for Voyage but, their voices are heard and both have presented singular interviews, off camera, recounting their own experiences of returning to ABBA.

It's a lullaby for me, a beautiful, soothing lullaby. It just proves they can do anything, any idea that comes to their mind turnes into something special, simple but extraordinary. I think I read somewhere that these songs, this album...this is IT. They are done, parted. Probably their final farewell to their fans.

Well ABBA wanted to give the fans a X-mas song for the first time. And give all money to charity from it. Like Chiquitita.

So back in 2017 ABBA where approached by Simon Fuller about doing a concert tour with holograms. Benny and Bjorn thought it would be a great idea to write a couple of new songs so there was something new for the fans to see / listen to. The 2 songs that were written and recorded in 2018 where I Still have faith in you and Don’t Shut Me Down. Originally the songs were to be released at the end of 2018 as part of a TV special and the concert would launch in 2019. Unfortunately due to technical issues with the concert things got delayed and then COVID Hit. During the Past 2 years Benny and Bjorn thought well we might need to do a couple of more songs as they other were technically not new, even though not released to the public and so Bjorn let slip that 5 songs had been recorded. Then all of Sudden last year we got ABBA voyage and a date 02/09/2021 appearing everywhere but nothing else. On 02/09/2021 there was an online event where it was announced that they were building a new Stadium in London to house the ABBA Voyage concerts that would open in May 2022 and initial thoughts are it will remain there for some years. They also annoyed that they will be releasing a new Album on 05/11/2021 also called Voyage. The online event opened with the video for I Still Have Faith in You then followed announcements and interviews with.Benny and Bjorn and finished with the lyrics video for Don’t Shut Me Down. There is also current a bidding war taking place by several Las Vegas hotels for the concert to have a residency’s there to. Benny wrote the music to I Still Have Faith in You and when he played it to Bjorn he knew it had to be about them and wrote the lyrics. All the songs music is written by Benny and lyrics by Bjorn which is the way it has been always with the exception in the early days when their manager Stig helped with some lyrics. Benny’s son is heavily involved with the whole project. Shortly after the release of the Album Benny had said this was it for ABBA but then in a different interview Frida said she was surprised by his comments and she said that she would never say never and was open to more. Bjorn was of a similar opinion so who knows. The girls agree to recording the music as long as they did not have to promote it, that would be down to the guys to do

Intersting video concept. Almost like the passing of the torch to a new generation. Definitely an emotional video. Not your typical ABBA sound, but the lyrics are theirs. I hope there is more to come. Great and insightful reaction, Hap. Peace J ✌ ☮💕

Unlike most groups. ABBA is their own management group, Polar. They can do whatever they want. It's hard to believe they did any of this for the money. They all have plenty. Each with hundreds of millions of dollars. They poured millions into the purpose built stadium in London to handle the CGI performances. Why? I suspect that Benny and Bjorn saw it as a challenge and an entirely new way to present not just themselves but someday other groups. They are all in their 70's. They aren't going to put themselves through the rigors of a tour. Heck, they turned down one billion dollars when they were much younger to go on a reunite tour.

Almost, but not quite. All of ABBA sold their shares in Polar Music back in the 80s. It was then sold by their manager Stig Anderson in 1990 to Polydor. Polar is still a record company, but pretty much in name only and is owned by Universal Music. However ABBA still get a final say on everything. They are in total control. If one member of the group says no, then it’s an automatic no.
@chrishaas2376
@chrishaas2376 2 жыл бұрын
@@discogareth Yep. In attempt to make things simple, I oversimplified. Bottom line: They are in control and after making it big, they have been for a long time. That's one of the reasons they were able to take their time with development and production. A record company could not demand or pressure for another album in a predefined time. Of course they felt their own pressure to get an album out. But it was their own pressure. That's not the way it is for most other groups. And I might add, switching from the business side of things, Voyage is great. I'm 75, they're in the 70's, and ABBA never ceases to amaze me. An incredible mix of musicians. For many of my favorite bands you can replace a member and the product is the same. I don't think any member of ABBA is replaceable. What a happy circumstance that they somehow found each other.
