The happiest classic pop song about being cheated on over and over 😳

This was the very first ABBA clip we saw in Australia in 1975 - and the whole country fell in love with ABBA (well, almost the whole country). It was never meant to be released as a single, but after much pressure from the Australian public, Molly Meldrum (host of the music show that first aired the video) and our record company RCA, they finally decided to release it. Australia went mad for ABBA, and triggered off a mania not seen since The Beatles. Glad you see this song for what it is - an absolute classic ! :)

You'll never forgive yourself if you don't listen to "The Winner Takes It All"...a somewhat biographical piece written by Bjorn at the time that he and Agnetha, the lead singer, were going though a painful divorce. One might wonder how Agnetha was able to manage singing such an emotionally wrenching piece, but she has always maintained that it is actually her favorite of all their hits. Another suggestion I'd offer is "Chiquitita", which is a beautiful showcase for Agnetha and Frida's exquisite harmonies! Great job on this reaction...thanks, again!

Fun song! I recommend their huge No. 1 hit "Dancing Queen," as well as "Fernando" and "Chiquitita."

Yes, yes, yes!!! Love this band, my parents used to listen to them when I was a child, so I knew them. And after the movie, I fell in love with their sound and went into my parent's archives and found some vinyl and even some CDs, ABBA Gold, I think. And bam, I became an ABBA fan, so great one Hap, great one 💯🤗💟

the real question is, why do they? - always dig deeper and think of the actual craft that goes into the creation of such a piece (as I always do anyway) :)

Pure Ear Candy. And Lasse Hallström really did a fantastic job with all their video's. I hope the new stuff with the ABBAtars is up to this level. But knowing ABBA I'm sure it will be.

Some aditional information: to relaunch his career in 1975 after this first hit with "Waterloo" and the failed intents with "Ring ring" & "So long" ABBA shot four promotional videos in two days: S.O.S. (recording in 1974) I do I do I do I do I do Mamma Mia Bang a boomerang ( the only one that was not to a single) Mamma Mia's video is an icon It is the first in which they film shots with facing lips In addition to the ability of the girls to rotate, put face to face, turn their backs or face and profile, all the possibilities at the service of the rhythm changes of the song

Great reaction and you are right it is very catchy. You should watch Muriel's Wedding, ABBA fuelled. I can see your brain ticking over watching this while you discover the intricacies that ABBA brought with their music.

There are loads reacting to ABBA these days on youtube but for some reason, I find yours pretty genuine. It would be interesting to know what you actually knew about ABBA before you started reacting to their music. As the band unofficially went their seperate ways back in 1982. I'm guess you were born after that so it would be interesting as an observer to know what you heard first. So many fans have come to enjoy the groups music as a direct result of ABBA GOLD, the Mamma Mia Movies and occassionally by the valuble work of youtubers who have added to the legacy of keeping this music very much alive for new generations. I'd also say, don't stop at the hits, there are some incredible songs just as good as the singles that were on the bands original albums.

You should definetly listen to "Santa Rosa" by ABBA, a very early tune, but one of the best in my opinion!😁 (and the intro sounds like "If I Needed Someone" by The Beatles🤣)

I know, I am completely late to this one, BUT: I encourage you very, very much to check the British charts back in December 75 and the January.... you will find a certain masterpiece (considered to be the greatest song ever written) by a certain band being number one for nine weeks... it was knocked from the top spot by a masterpiece from another super band from Sweden and the title of the second song actually appear in the first!

Hap3speakz, have a go at I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do. Cheesy song, no doubt, but just magnificent also. Featured in “Muriels Wedding” and shows the girls Soprano voices off a treat, not a bad lyric BTW.

ABBA were primarily a studio band rather than a live performance band. The harmonies by the girls were quite complex & layered and near impossible to produce on stage as they could in a studio. Live performances for the most will always be a pale imitation of the recordings. To me the only good live recordings are of the Australian tour. Even then they had to be touched up for the ABBA film as the captured sound quality back then was not always good enough.
