I think this is a message to the world that freedom is under threat and has been for some time from those who promise happiness and safety if we only give up everything and allow them total power over us. Currently the worlds wealthiest and most powerful and corrupt elite are openly discussing the best way to impoverish and take what is left of freedom from the people in the name of saving the planet. "If I ever wrote my Ode to Freedom Being privileged and spoilt for choice Then I fear that you would Be suspicious Of the cause to which I'd lend my voice" Yet people are not suspicious, instead they demand their own impoverishment and slavery because the huge media propaganda arm of these elite told them this will save the planet. Meanwhile those who demand it with their Islands, super yachts, private jets, fuel guzzling motorcades, lavish banquets, five star hotels and dozen multi million pound mansions give up nothing, in fact they have factually got ever more rich and powerful with each new crisis that takes our freedom and wealth.

Beautiful harmonies brilliant composition and meaningful lyrics I am sure it will also go down in history as a great album just like the ones before it. The recent charts say it all. Apapa

A true sentence...
@OperaJH3 жыл бұрын
Most popular music was soulless from the 60’s, including that of the Beatles. I was a radio DJ then and really had to tolerate a lot of it. I actually just about disliked it all and was dismayed at the standards to which music hand sunk even from the previous generation. Then ABBA came along and made everything brighter and happier and much more melodic. How amazing that was. After they disbanded, looking for better music, I turned to opera and really fell more in love with classical music than I had been. A few decent pop singers have come along, but only two have stood out for me -IL Volo and the extraordinary Dimash Qudaibergen - mainly for their voices and the KIND of music they present. And now again, ABBA has lit a beautiful lamp in the bleak music landscape - with their sensitivity to music that is eternal. And in that they once again, are lighting up the world! Even one of the songs on the new album which I dislike - and the only ABBA song I have ever disliked, is far, far better that just about anything out there today. Thank you ABBA. So very, very much. 💖

Well, by chance I heard it right now and... I cannot express what I am feeling inside my soul and heart: this is poetry, is a classical ode at a Beethoven and Verdi level. This is not pop anymore is ART in its quintessential way. Pure beauty and emotion. Benny is a genius, the words of Björn are simply perfect and the voices of the 2 ladies... well, simply divine. I’ve now gotten the chance to listen to Agnetha & Anne-Frid on their own singles songs and they have beautiful voices. And I discovered when these two girls come together in the same room. Something magical happens. For the lack of better words. It’s as if, a whole new set of algorithms are brought into play. They automatically balance their voices. And lift each other up and fade into the background at the right time. This is a rare thing in music. I’m not talking harmonies as a group. This is a matchup of tones and power to drive each other at just the right time. And let’s not forget the boys. Their abilities to inject their sounds without overwhelming the girls takes skill as well. Going back in time to their vary first contest they won. It showed the voters a sound back then what they really liked. Benny & Bjorn discovered this early on. That Agnetha & Anne-Frid had a magnetic draw within the sound of their voices working together as a team. Even with the span of 40 years in time that thing we call magic stills holds. Well the rest is history we have ABBA!

So a lot of the critics are missing the point. If you thought there was going to be another Dancing Queen, another Mamma Mia, you failed the exam before you even sat down (yes, I'm looking at you, The Guardian). This album is about completion, and to me it says three things clearly. 1) (as they have pretty much said themselves) we refuse to bow to *any* pressure on how our music "should" be. This is what we want to write as we close the book, and here it is. 2) They knew instinctively that writing thirtysomething songs about finding and losing new lovers would be ridiculous when they were in their 70s, and on this instinct they were entirely correct. Thus the ballads are mature and sensitive renderings of the complexities of late-phase relationships and the dance numbers hinge on nostalgia. 3) And perhaps most of all, it's a farewell. Yes, yes, I know we don't want it to be, and some people are already bleating for another album but...it is. And honestly, we should honour their wishes in this. The signal is there on every page. Here are the more straightforward things that matter to us now we are older - perhaps they can matter to you too. Here are what simple joys sound like without the many occluding veils. It's also a thank you, from Abba, not for the music, but for listening to the music, for being there for us these many decades. We still had faith in them, we didn't shut them down, no doubt about it. Last night I had a bizarre but rather affecting dream after listening to this album. Bear with me. I dreamed of four balloons like oriental lanterns with a candle underneath. They were at the edge of a large body of water and each balloon bore the semblance of one member of ABBA. One by one, at random moments, they took off into the mists, never to be seen again but glowing for a long time as they left. And behind them, always and without end, was the music they made. This lacerating final track, Ode To Freedom, echoes on the winds. And that was Voyage. And that was their voyage. And that has been our voyage...with ABBA...since the early 70s. May the wind be at your back Benny, Agnetha, Bjorn, Anni-Frid, and with the greatest sincerity, thank you for the music, thank you so very...very...much, for the music. You changed the world.
@altair85983 жыл бұрын

@greensleeves71653 жыл бұрын
@@AnssiRai Well Benny did say that if the ladies twisted his arm, that's the only thing that could make it happen. So the ladies would have to want to do another album, I feel. Having just completed one, I'm not sure I think it's likely, but of course I would be delighted to be wrong about this. We don't have a limitless future anymore unfortunately. If we lose one of them, it's all over. I'm not interested in a 3-out-of-foursome ABBA album (or single) and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be either. Here would be my own personal thought on making this possible. We, the fans, make it clear that the ladies would only have to do the stuff in Benny's studio (which they loved doing) and literally nothing else. That is *much* more likely to make it happen (imo).

It would be great if the Vienna philarmonic would play this tune at the new year`s concert on 1 january 2022. Abba are such a timeless beauty. The voices and harmonies are from another world. 40 years, where did you go? I remember staying home from school one day pretending I did not feel ok, to listen to The Album all over again and again. Their new songs are still revelations to me and what consoles me when thinking of them in connection with time is the fact that the experience is shared by so many people all over the world who are enthralled by the underlying truth in their often melancholic tunes... Life had them when they were "young and sweet, only seventeen" but they were also still there when all was said and done, and the winner took it all ... They never lied to me. Fair enough, that`s the way it all goes, thank your for the music, guys! You have given me so much! And how often have I turned to your music when everything else did not make much sense. This melody is so utterly moving and the lyrics are so humble and wistful. The blended voices reflect that too. There is a yearning in there that does move me to tears. A symphonic arrangement and fitting finale for ABBA writing and performing as ABBA, with a profound twist in the very last line of the lyric (I added that after more absorption of this piece, which is actually, unashamedly classical in concept and musicality). I'm 17, young, and not ashamed of listening to this band. It all started in 2016, I was only 10 and the first ABBA song I listened to was "On And On And On", "Our Last Summer", "Under Attack", "The Way Old Friends Do" and "The Piper". At that time, my father was still using a CD that contained these 5 songs and many other songs. I got interested in this band, and downloaded the same 5 songs in 2019 when I started to experiment with music downloaders. Slowly, I started to browse through 40-year-old songs on this KZbin channel and downloaded many more. 3 months ago, I was hyped when I saw a notification from ABBA's KZbin channel. They came back! Wow! Over time, I started to download songs from ABBA V oyage and listen to it almost every day. Today, I have a total of 60 songs from ABBA that are in my music player.
