Even their songs about break-ups, heartbreaks, and such still to this day make me feel happy. They always had a way to take the bite out of the situation and create something heartfelt to enjoy.

so nice to see you with another reaction to ABBA songs specialy because these is my favourite ABBA song of all times, and IMHO is 'Their Masterpiece' for excellence, between more ABBA masterpieces "S.O.S." (1975) has a story It was one of Their first recordings after the greatest success of "Waterloo" in Eurovisión, just four months later, in August 1974. more than 50 years ago But it waited almost a year for its release, in June 1975 at Sweden, September 1975 at UK and US (the next singles after Waterloo was, in these order: Ring Ring (re-entry), So long (at 1974), and "I do I do I do I do I do", and finally "S.O.S." when " "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single, it picks at #6 in U.K. and #15 in U.S. being Their second hit in both countries at the same time, and six #1 (including Germany Australia) and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents and after these, ABBA had 18 Top 10 consecutives in UK between 1975/1982, for example: Mamma Mía, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a chance con me, Chiquitita, The winner takes it all, Super trouper etc "S.O.S." in less than 200 seconds is a gem, a Masterpiece! The transitions from the dramatic opening (a dingy piano and a cracking voice of the blonde singerAgnetha) to a powerful rock beat with catchy pop chorus in the middle are brilliant Also, an interesting fact: the same blonde singer Agnetha recorded S.O.S. in swedish for her solo album in 1975 IMHO her voice in swedish is more painful ABBA marked an era in many ways One was the musical leadership of its beautiful and lofty female vocalists as the center of attention Another was the use of contrasts, such as sad lyrics with catchy melodies and harmonies And their recording tecnique "wall of sound" gives ABBA more powerfull ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well Thank you very much for your reaction; I hope to see you soon in next ABBA songs Another fantastic song is "The name of the game" (1977) or if you like to see the brunette singer Frida as lead voice my suggestion is "Fernando" (1976) or "Super Trouper" (1980) My best regards to You from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South América

In this case it's refering to save our love our relationship not an accident from an aircraft , ship, car or fire . My favorite song of theirs to this day .

@@gregorygant4242 there are many words that start with "S" that may fit in the "Save Our S..." that could be applicable.

That's the internationally accepted and recognized meaning of SOS regardless of what profession you are or were in .

Fun fact: This band, with this song, is the only song that can lay claim to having a band name AND a song name that are both palindromes. :)

Agnetha (blonde Lead Singer) was married in 1971 to her first husband and the Song SOS came out in 1975. She separated from her first Husband in 1978.They divorced in 1980. So she probably was truly singing the song from the heart as it was only two years later. Loved her voice on the radio growing up.

All of the group members have great vocals, and when they harmonize, it just sounds like ear candy to me. Then when you look into the lyrics, and understand what their songs are about, it just makes their songs that much more relatable, and enjoyable.

SOS means "save our souls"
@Crazykid94917 күн бұрын
That is another adaptation to the acronym.

@Crazykid949 sorry, but sos is save our souls - internationally recognised distress call originally an acronym for transmission in morse code - it has been adapted to many circumstances as a symbol for distress and a plea for rescue but it has never been recognised as anything other than save our souls.
