I always associated your intro with the ESC 1974 video and the synth refrain harks back to Benny’s own intro for the ‘79 tour (I hope I got that reference right lol). When I think about “Voyage” and how it felt like to anticipate a new ABBA album, it sends chills to my body. I was so comfortable with their legacy that I was not even mentally prepared to welcome an entirely new offering from them…but needless to say, I was not disappointed. I lit up a candle by my bed, and streamed away… Aside from “I Still Have Faith in You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down”, I loved every single track but the one song that really tugged at my heartstrings more than any other was, for some odd reason, “Bumblebee”. I think I got too overwhelmed by the simplicity but deep weight of the lyrics, and the sweet dance between Benny’s melancholic icy synths and Frida’s honey-like vocals (which almost crack by the time she sings that last “feeling sad for those who ne-ver”). By the end of the track, I was a sea of tears, and I always get a bit misty eyed when I listen to the song. There’s no hard or horrible thought behind it…it’s just so beautiful and earnest that it makes me want to cry. Listening to the record, then and now, feels like rekindling with my childhood friends, and in many ways, ABBA is the embodiment of that memory. They’ve been the longest friends I’ve ever had. Happy 3rd anniversary to “Voyage” and BB!

Both the black "sheeps"(lol) 'BB" and "LT" i also LOVE.I loved them even more after listening to B'sb Doldy Atmos analysis to the Voyage album series.You could even hear front-face some real strings sound and the beautiful instrumentation hidden underneath not to mention the treal organic non-autotuned vocals.I like the way Frida delivers 'BB' with such tenderness.As if she sings to a little child a little story to listen and learn.

What a magical moment that was. You could feel that this wasn't your average reunion. So many people said that "Voyage" would hit the big time during its first week, then vanish from the charts the following week. It then proceeded to stay in the UK top 10 for two months. It was nominated at the Grammys for two consecutive years. It topped the charts worldwide and was one of the biggest seller of the year on an international level. People still have the right to dislike ABBA (it's their loss, really !), but one cannot overlook that it was a triumph.
@alexioverdo522518 күн бұрын
Yeah!That's true!It didn't drop to vanish the next week.For 2021 / Worldwide(i think) 2nd best seller in the sales chart , UK it was 3rd best seller with only Adele/Sheeran above it and worldwide no 8 regarding all formats with streamings included.

The entire ABBA Voyage Experience was made up of three major components for me. First, the anticipation, excitement and realization of their new music. Second, their Virtual Voyage Concert experience, even though I knew I wouldn't see it in person. And finally, the third and just as important component, the "Bobby's Brother" KZbin Channel. At least to this kid from Upstate New York, USA, who became a fan in the mid 1970s, you have provided a wonderful ABBA roller coaster ride for me. I’ve been a fan since 1975. I understand the boys are reluctant to write new songs, but I would love to see a tenth album that could wrap up ABBA’s career with a proper farewell. Frida’s line “this isn’t where it ends” still has me hanging onto hope. Bumblebee struck me as very thought provoking. Frida’s light Swedish lilt made her message all the more endearing. She’s so sweet.

Hi! I am glad to be among the people who are watching your videos already for 3 years! Cheers! I did not comment on it so much but I just saw that I did react on your video "Abba voyage, new project, new music". I was so excited for everything that was going on in that period! And I was very happy to have discovered you and your channel. From the start I really appreciated your serious approach and the depth; it is all about Abba's music. I missed that, there was no channel like yours. And I like your humble way of looking at the succes of your channel. Never shouting out that we 'had to follow you' or promoting it heavily. That is why people even more like you/your channel! Sympathic and serious but with some humour as well now and then! Thank you! I never knew that your opening behind the plants was based on a Abba 1974 video, till now! Funny! Finally I would like to say that my favourite song from Voyage (besides Don't shut me down) is No doubt about it. Uplifting, nice harmonies and great, powerful solo vocals by Frida. I recognize a bit of the "old Abba" in it. The song is positive, fun, and the are sounding young. Thanks again, greetings from Holland, Johan

He has now been reacting to every song he has never heard especially album tracks he is currently reacting to songs from arrival so he still has a long way to go including the solo projects by both women. I believe he is 35 married and has two young girls and this is a security guard. His real name is David he also has nearly 20,000 subscribers and does live streams once in awhile so it would be great if people check out his channel and his reactions turn not only Abba but he likes melodic metal as well. As you mention in 2018 they first told us about new music and about the possible show, and then it all got postponed. And then in full pandemic, Gorel tells us this okay 2021, but not so credible at this stage unfortunately. In any case, not for me. Cheers for the third year anniversary of The Voyage Album, Bobby's Brother!!! I'm a 61 years old fan of ABBA since they formed the band. I collected news clippings, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, and CDs here in my country, The Philippines! I wrote to them via snail mail and I got a reply from Stockholm, Sweden, but I am not sure if it really came from any of them, although there was "ABBA" stamped on the envelope because there was no letter nor any signature - just a postcard painting of Frida! I bought a copy of ABBA - The Movie when I went to Germany in 2008. I've been watching your channel every now and then, but it's only now that I'm writing to you because it calls for a celebration! My best song from Voyage other than the first two covers is "I Can Be That Woman." Keep up the very good work, Brother!

3 years ago… that is crazy how time flies… can you remember where you were when you watched that live TV announcement? We got stuck in traffic so weren’t going to be home in time to see it, so my wife and I swapped driving so I could watch on my phone! Congratulations on your channel and thank you for all your insights and videos. They are always a pleasure to watch, and providing a forum for people to discuss together… love the idea of ‘sit and chat’… which album will you pick next? Or maybe favourite performance from the Voyage Show?

I think my favorite song from voyage album is „When you danced with me” it gives good nostalgia and sometimes its very touching and reflective. Vocals of ladies are wonderfull. I woud like to mention also „Just a notion” and No doubt about it”. They always give me a good mood. Vocals of ladies are so powerfull. I wonder why they didnt add Just a notion to Voulez vous album. BB thanks for your videos, they are very helpfull and I like watching them!

Ode to freedom is very special considering the historical moment we are living nowadays. It shows the wish for real freedom and peace they have for our world.

Bumblebee breaks my heart as I believe it is elegaic - it's about an older woman facing her mortality; "but for now I'm in my garden..."

Every song is special . I honestly think it’s their best album- joint equal with The Visitors

For me it might not be the 'best' Abba album but the one that tops them all to my heart for emotional reasons.I put it in my turntable and watch the needle spinning getting transported to another world.Nostalgic,safer,warmer.I almost never fail to get wet eyed while listening.I usually listen all 10 songs in a row.I owe them gratitude for this consolation and what they dared to do after 4 decades.

A devastating story, the saddest song. That could only be set to music by Benny. That could only be turned to lyrics by Bjorn. And that could only be sung, in an inspired performance, by a person who can empathize with that deepest melancholy, Agnetha.
