It's a nice short 3 minute interview, and we should all be quite glad that Paul and Ringo are still with us, these guys are nothing short of spectacular, and amazing at over 80 and 82 years of age, as I remember first seeing them that night, on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964 as a nine and a half year old. We went to buy the new album, Meet The Beatles, the next day. I made cardboard mock guitars with kite string, inviting my friends over so we could lip sync to the music, spinning off the vinyl record on the turntable our parents just bought us. [You can hear me speaking to Aimee Mann on a special edition of NPR's Talk of the Nation on June 6th 2007, as they interview her asking what an eight-year-old remembers of the release of the new Sergeant Pepper's album in June 1967. You can search the link to this discussion, or I'll also provide it below when I edit in a while.] I'm looking forward to watching this as soon as it hits the Disney+ plus streaming. I believe tonight at midnight, at the clock stroke of December 16th 2022. I've got to check again now to see when it actually streams. I noticed nobody here mentions this. And how many of you commenting here today, have not yet watched The Beatles Get Back documentary that Peter Jackson spent 4 years in meticulous and beautiful editing? It's almost 8 hours long but it's in three parts you don't have to sit and watch the entire 8 hours in one sitting. I logged on to Disney plus a year ago, and thought that I would just subscribe for one month for $7.99 a month. Instead I've rewatched the documentary I don't know how many times in the past year, it's like the Stanley Kubrick movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, every time you go to watch it or review it, you see something that you didn't see before. There is so much in the nearly 8 hours of the Get Back documentary, it's like like watching a historical replay of the 1960s 1970s in general. So don't think of it as just watching The Beatles fifth group member when Billy Preston enters the studio for the final days before the rooftop concert, you'll see why they are so loved in light for over a half century. These guys have the quality of being great comedians and even Jazz musicians, as they are shown to be playing almost jazz fusion improvisations in the final days before their practice to put on the greatest last live concert that they play together. The final 45 minutes of part 3 is waiting for, because we had only seen it in the past as a short 20 minutes excerpts and rather darkly edited but we have to be thankful for Michael Lindsey Hogg, now recently divulged as the illegitimate son of Orson Welles that directed and produced this wonderful documentary in 1969. It took the masterful skills of Peter Jackson to properly edit it to the beautiful finished work it is today. [And remember, if you think 8 hours is too long to watch The Beatles, imagine there's another 52 hours of unedited film work that has not been released from those 3 weeks in January 1969.] They come across as almost like the Marx Brothers movies, which the Beatles had said at one time, they are big fans of the Marx Brothers.

Of course (despite the flack they get from Beatles fans), the biggest London beat group of '63 was Brian Poole and The Tremeloes. Their sole chart topper 'Do You Love Me' knocked The Beatles off the number one spot, coincidentally the same week Brian & co made their debut at The Cavern.
