Hi Abby- if I apply for a VA job what if the client asks for references or background check. How do I answer this ? 😮😮
@thevirtualsavvy2 ай бұрын
You may wish to provide them with testimonials instead of references (because you're a freelancer not an employee).

@@thevirtualsavvy that is true. that I can do for sure. What if they ask me to do a background check because I will be having their credit card to book trips and running personal shopping online. How do I respond to?
@thevirtualsavvy2 ай бұрын
You get to decide what you are comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with a background check for this purpose they may not be the right client for you.

Hello, I just recently came across your channel, and it is very helpful. I have been applying for several part time marketing positions that are remote, and now Virtual assistant positions for about a month now. I am not getting any responses except for scammers. Do you have any recommendations for me? Do you think it could be something with the keywords in my Linkedin profile?
@thevirtualsavvy3 ай бұрын
Hi @gasperm3, what other methods have you tried using to find clients? LinkedIn is just one of many! Check out some of the other videos on the channel about marketing and getting clients. Here's one to get you started: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioLVhYuCq6etqLM

@@thevirtualsavvy I use Indeed as well, or I just do a google search and an array of different sites come up like grabjobs, ziprecruiter, etc.

@@thevirtualsavvy Yes, I have done the virtual assistant-remote search on linkedin. I have also tried the search "and we're hiring" posts search, any other recommendations?

Please can this work in Nigeria?
@thevirtualsavvy2 ай бұрын
This can totally work in Nigeria. That's the best part about virtual assistance; it can be done from practically anywhere in the world.

Just an FYI this method isn't proving helpful for Pinterest VAs. All that comes up are actual Pinterest corporate jobs. There also aren't a lot of people posting about looking for them either. If someone else find different results - let me know 😊 Im sure this technique might work on other platforms though
@thevirtualsavvy4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info! It's possible that this method will be effective for particular types of VA work and less effective for others. Check out some of our other videos for where and how to find clients online and in person!

Unfortunately the VA industry is dead. Near impossible to keep up with the $5 an hour offshore freelancers
@pamelajohnson19934 ай бұрын
I agree
@PrincessSachiko4 ай бұрын
This isn't true. There are plenty of VAs and other online freelancers who are paid much more than $5. I'm a freelance writer. The highest I've been paid for hourly work is $40 per hour (though actually a lot of my work is not hourly anyway). Not every client is looking for the cheapest person. Many clients are willing to pay more for quality and someone who understands their business well. It may help you to specialize in a skill and niche down to serve a specific type of business. You don't HAVE to do this but I think it can make it easier for you to charge higher prices.

I have to disagree. The platforms where those rates are common are just a small part of the market. Our students are finding the opportunities and the rates that they want every day. Check out thevirtualsavvy.com/results for some of their results!
