As a kid I had a friend who owned a 16 MM sound projector, and owned most of the Castle Films A&C shorts. These bought back fond memories. As a much older man watching them again, I realize this comedy and timing was learned in burlesqe...not from the 3 Stooges. A&C had learned well and transferred their skills to movies!

Years ago I collected 8mm Castle Films. Had quite a few A&C titles.

yes, the oyster in the stew routine goes back quite a ways.....Abott & Costello, Three Stooges, and even back to the Charlie chaplin era

I've had this film in my 16mm library going back to the 1960's.It and another castle short "Fun on the Run" were extracted from the 1945 Universal feature "Here come the Coeds" Probably the two most popular A&C Castle shorts of the whole castle collection. The two shorts take the best scenes from Here come the Coeds and make a funny and entertaining short. The complete feature it self wasn't that good,so Castle did a good job of editing the right scenes for a short story...s.m.

Abbott & Costello successfully sued Universal for selling these extracted scenes to the home movie non theatrical market without compensating A&C with royalty payments.

well its also from the sourse My Pal Moe by Bob Bernet "Moe also revealed that Lou Costello was known to "borrow" Three Stooges films from Columbia Pictures from time to time. Presumably, it was to study Curly. Inevitably, Moe said, Curly's routines would show up in Abbott and Costello features" now i do tottaly agree that comedians like the stooges abboott and cosello ect did routines from vaudville and had the same writers

hacks Abbott and Costello used to watch the MgM shorts and practiced the stooges routines they made them in the movies but the stooges did it first on film Curleys epic Dutiful But Dumb 1941 curly fights with an oyster in his soup Abbott and Costello Here Come the Co-Eds (1945) Costello does the same act i never cared much for theses guy just because if this
