Abby Steiner: I Pray She Do Not Make the Olympic Team

Mr 100K A Day

Ай бұрын

Mr 100K A Day speaks on how Abby is over hyped and how she is given too much credit for things that black women do regularly. The great white hope syndrome with Abby, Caitlin Clark and others is sickening. Jeremy Lin did this exact same thing in 2012 causing "Linsanity" but they always fail miserably. It's noted that Abby only seems to run fast in Eugene and How her performances mimic those of Jenna Prandini....another white sprinter who was overhyped coming out of college. They both have never broken 22 seconds outside of Eugene.

Nike spent millions on building Hayward Field. Most of the athletes that have run there praise the track surface. Sprinters and Long Distance runners. I would conclude that the track surface is excellent and better than all other track surfaces. Therefore, faster times are run on Hayward Field's surface. Also, most all the best track events want to hold their meets at Hayward Field.

You put a lot of effort into these videos and I appreciate that but your arguments are somewhat flawed. The biggest track event in college is the National Championships which are at Hayward Field. It's no surprise the fastest times are at the same place. The biggest and most important professional track meets in the U.S. are the National Championships and the Prefontaine Classic and both are at Hayward Field. All of the fastest times should be at Hayward field. I also wouldn't look at early season tomes especially in an Olympic year to determine to how good someone is. Having said that, I agree with you that Abby is overhyped, but the jury is still out on her. I believe her 21.77 was legit and if healthy, she will surpass that.

@@Mr100kaday Prefontaine is also a world class level championship. I can't argue with the fact that she hasn't run sub 22 elsewhere, but If you look a little closer. Her junior year she was injured. Her senior year she almost broke 22 indoors with a 22.09. Her outdoor regional meet, she ran 22.01. Outdoor championships that year she ran a believable 21.80 and the U.S. Championships she ran a 21.77. That's a solid buildup to the championships. This argument is dumb. You're right about the hype, but the NCAA doesn't do that great a job of preparing people to be sprinting pros, and the women's 200 field is slim. With the exception of Gabby Thomas (and maybe Sha'Carri), the USA Women's 200 field is weak. Let's look at the current batch of Black USA 200m women who aren't in College right now. Gabi Thomas: Born in 1996. Didn't break 22 until she was 24 y/o. Tamara Clark: broke 20 seconds when she was 22, but also hasn't run sub-22 in the past couple of years and has never broken 22 outside Haywood Field. Brittany Brown has broken 22 one time - at age 27. Lynna Irby Jackson: has made a million teams and has never run faster than 22.25. The list goes on and on. The issue is that the US women's 200 field is thin, and that Abby is still probably the third best overall in the past few years even if she doesn't make the team this year. Right now, McKenzie Long is right where Abby was in 2022, just a hair slower. Maybe Jameesia Ford is a 200 genius. We'll find out, but aside from Gabby and Sha'Carri, the American 200m pros just aren't that good. If you wonder why USA women don't run faster younger than Jamaican women, blame the NCAA. They're all about getting points for their team. They DGAF about someone's sprinting career.

What you're saying is true but why come down on her, as if she had personally done something. All she has done is run done her best and took advantage of the opportunities given to her, just as everyone would do. I think the US has a lot better runners but there isn't any reason to spew that kind of hate at her. Save that for the fans and the sponsors that you really have the issue with. She's not my favorite runner but I find her to be nice and professional so I just keep it right there

You missed the mark when you tried to say Irina Privolova's 60m world record is because of some "black vacuum" on the indoor circuit. Sorry dude, but for the decades that this record has stood, countless thousands of black athletes have had an opportunity to break it. I like your channel because it tells it how it is and calls out the drug use and other shady shit, but when you make it about race you take your channel into the gutter.

Abby was OUR National Champion in 2022. Ran hurt in 2023 and had surgery at the end of the season. She’s not fully back and hopefully she’ll back full healthy next season. Remember Gabby Thomas didn’t even make the team in 22 and she was running hurt as well. Alfred was the next big thing in out of College and Puma signed her just like they signed Abby. McKenzie Long is the big thing this year and Addidas signed her.

Both Abby, and Prindini, 5th and second to last, got smoked in the Final. Keep up your good work brother, people dont like hearing the truth bursting their illusions. Caucasians are already making the excuses "she was injured" narrative, others are sweeping it under the rug, and ignoring she got smoked very bad.

I sorry my dude but i don't wish her nothing but much success 👌🏻; Why🤷, cause track & field needs a great White sprinter who will help track & field athletes to promote the sport, cause in real time reality the Black Athletes have been getting pimped forever & only the cream of the crop have been able to do well for themselves, the rest have to figure out how they can even make the next track meet 👌🏻; Also time can be negotiable dep- ending own who & where the meet is, but i truly want her to do well & not just her but i wish many more Caucasian's would be able to com- pete, cause again, i personally think track & field would be a much bigger sport especially over here in the states but again it has never happened, now the huge Utopian Universities year end & year out pimp the ♨️☄️hell🔥 out of their runners 🏃‍♀️ indoors & out, (thus taking advantage of the off time as the summer kicks in from foot 🏈 & basket 🏀) which is a killer schedule for any runner which is why most don't do well as a pro 👌🏻, making that adjustment is hard & most of all finding a real good mechanics coach to teach one how to run 🏃‍♂️ correctly to be able to compete is another, its not but a hand full of coaches who actually know the true art of sprinting & two of them are over in "Jamaica", two or 3 more or here in the states, so the skills it would take to com- pete with the top of the line "🐎Fillies🐎" are basically what we see 👀 now, & "Dear-Abby" is not one of them, her skill set is missing & that puts her in a great disadvantage right along with that other "Caucasian Kid" can't remember his name at the moment, but he was hot 🔥in high school & some what in college but even there he has been having his ass handed to him, as a matter of fact i have heard he's going to try his luck running the 4 💯 good luck, the problem is its their mechanics not their talent, they have great talent but their mechanics are horrible especially "Dear👱‍♀️Abby", if i were her i would make a stop off at "UCLA" & make arrangements with either "John Smith" or "Bobby K", or maybe "Sha-Sha's" coach or travel all the way over to "Jamaica" & work out a deal with "Bolt's coach or"Eliane's" ex-Coach, that is if they really want to grow & get much better in my humble opinion, cause that is exactly what i would do🤷👌🏻!!! Amen 🙏!!!

naw we dont need a great white hope. Thats silly. Whites are simple minded think race first then talent. Blacks dont do that. We accept and respect talent....regardless of race. Abby havent even broken 22 seconds yet. i dont respect her. SHe just a funny looking snow bunny who stayed in college forever and broke a few records. Im not impressed.
