The Australian’s Media Writer Sophie Elsworth says ABC Managing Director David Anderson was a “hot mess” when he was grilled by the Senate about the Alice Springs report which breached the company’s own impartiality guidelines.
“That performance by David Anderson, who let's remind you is paid about $1 million a year, didn’t really seem to know what was going on under his watch,” she told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“I think he was shown today that he’s not in control of what journalists and editorials are putting out on their platforms.”

When Philip Williams blamed far right white supremist on the Minnesota riots I could see that he was wrong from my living room. The Washington Post also reported the same thing. Two months later the WaPo released an article that they were wrong blaming right wing folk on the chaos and that the spearhead were mostly Antifa and other left wing radicals as well as opportunist. The ABC never made a correction about their error. It's important to accurately report issues and make corrections when they are blatantly incorrect.

It was weird. In Alice Springs I didn't see klansman riding on horses lynching blacks, Aboriginals could use any service they wanted, there was no segregation, Australians were not beating them up for fun and police were not terrorising Aboriginal for morbid thrills.
