Dear Akpos, you have by this single video restored my faith in Nigeria and Nigerians. You have just proved that, after all, there are still some decent, hard-working and God-fearing Nigerians out there. I would like to keep an open line of communication with you as I feel there's a lot that we can do together. I am from Edo state but, unfortunately, at this point in time, I live outside of Nigeria. I am really proud of your efforts. Please keep the good work going. May the Almighty God bless you for sharing your knowledge.

This documentary was an eye-opener to me and want to say a big kudos to you Akpos for putting it together for the benefit of those who wish to go into this farming business. i notice that during HARVEST, u harvested ALL the fishes. What if you do not have ready market to buy all the fish during harvest? Have you considered modern methods of preservation?
@AkposYemiEjumudo9 жыл бұрын
Toks buyers were on ground. They come to your farm to buy. You continue sales till you're done harvesting all your produce. Itvmay take days or weeks, depending on what you have for sale. The market is always there. If you need buyers, let me know.

Good one, but concern is the calculation of pond size. What not use metres in measurement to calculate the size to arrive at square meter, than using feet to arrive at square meters
@AkposYemiEjumudo5 жыл бұрын
Was an error. Unfortunately once I uploaded the video there was no way to correct. Using meters, you can go with a stocking density of 40fish/sqm. Video was shot in 2009. Requires some updating also.

Hello Akpos, this is awesome information, thank you for the lecture. Can you make a video on recirculating system you talked about or schematics for building the tank. You also talked about building the filters or ready made systems. I know when you referred to 2million naira, is that what it would take?
@brotherray797010 жыл бұрын
Blessings Daniel. Let me explain you something about the Filter System, you have 2 priorities for this and they will generate extra income for you and no expenses where you will lost money and growing time for your fish and are: VermaFarming or VermAquaFarming [with this Method you mix VermaFarming Using Red Worms & AquaFarming]. Using any of these Methods you can produce: Sprouts, Micro & Baby Greens, Vegetables, Herbs [Culinary & Medicinal], The Growing Beds will be your Natural Filter, and the Fish's Water will be the Food for your Plants, so you never need fertilizers for your plants, as you can see this is a dual porpoise: Beds clean the water for your fish, and the fish produce the Organic food for your plants, plus using the Red Worms, you will produce 100% Organic/Green Fertilizers & Teas. I can help you to start your own AquaFarming Farm and / or Ranch, I will Design & Adapt Your Own Business Plan to The Land and Budget you have, plus I will take you all the way step by step for a full year or the time you need to learn,I will teach you everything you need to know, to bring your business to another and better level! Feel Free to contact me @: TerranovaOrganicGreenFarms@greenmail.net

I'll try to make a video on that. You'll need more than N2m to set up a complete system now...that cost was as at 2009.

You can also add some bottles of Guinness stout or schnapps liquor in to the pond which will help fishes to get high at all time. In Jamaica they used weed (Marijuana) to feed their fish so it will be jumping up and down lively at all time.

hi my earthen pond is of 40 width 40 length and 5 feet deep so it means (40*40*5)/3 = 2666 . 2*2666=5333 so accordingly I can stock 5333 fish in my pond is Tha correct . please correct me if I got it wrong Mr Akpos Yemi Ejumudo
@DoYouKnowThisAndThat7 жыл бұрын
Akpos Yemi Ejumudo so you mean 40*40*5 feet =8000 cubic feet . which means I can stock 3*8000=24000 fish in my pond let's assume in 6 month time they all grow to 500 grams I will be having 12 tons of fish in this small pond . I am really confused please explain me regarding stocking
@DoYouKnowThisAndThat7 жыл бұрын
Akpos Yemi Ejumudo please reply
@AkposYemiEjumudo7 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry I'm just seeing this message now. Your earlier calculation is correct. l*b*d/3= The entire cubic feet of your pond. To stock 2 fish/cubic ft, multiply the entire cubic ft by 2 (recommended for earthen ponds) To stock 4 or 5 /cubic ft, multiply the entire cubic ft by 4 or 5 accordingly (recommended for surface tanks with flow-through system)
