Unreal. How even people that he is helping, turn around and criticise him. Guess what, they don’t have to take the money!

He was a man who was not perfect but he did put his heart and soul in the M. D. telethon. He referred to "Jerry's kid's" as a sign of endearment. There are so many bad things in this world to criticize. This is not one of them.

He stayed way too long. Probably ten to fifteen years. The Telethon was no longer broadcast on prime network affiliates. CW stations carried the show, and not all of it either.

Point blank. The man made loads of money to this organization for the treatment of these people. But I know this…..Since Mr Lewis is gone how’s the organization now??? I don’t hear anything now. Thought so. How they made him leave was a horrible way . What a mockery He WAS THE TELETHON And never to have any more ever again. They got real quiet since 2010 Smh.

I was a fan of lewis for years .He was brash many times rude. I believe he put his heart and soul into MDA . Because he was the way he was in life , it made him an easy target. But i personally believe if you can separate the two , he did great things for MDA.

Mr. Lewis never changed with the Times. He was from a different and bygone Era. In the End, aging and reality kicked him in the tookus. Great reporting. Thanks for sharing.

And in the end the orphans and MDA got their way. He only gave much of his life to fight the disease and through his work thousands of people were afforded care, facilities and equipment. Oh and my contributions over several years helped in a very small way as well.

I would never criticize Jerry lewis for how he conducted himself.he should be commended for devoting most of his life for his telethon.this man raised way over 2 billion dollars for his cause,and some people criticized him? Millions of people considered Jerry to be a great humanitarian.im one of those millions.

@@robertrothberg8678 he got to put his tired and stale act on network tv for long periods of a time keeping his name in the spotlight while at the same time ignoring what those who were dealing with the disease were saying. pretty typical of lewis who by all accounts was a gigantic ass as a person.

The MDA Telethon could have ended in 1990 with the 25th Anniversary and still had a great, long run. I would never have given those ungrateful ANTI-MDA "kids" a platform in which to speak. What did they offer? What money did they pledge? Exactly.

kind of poor form not to listen to the people who have the disease. it played badly back then and it plays terribly today . the only thing lewis was interested in was his own colossal ego .

6:32-7:55: this was the problem at it's core with the sociopath Jerry Lewis; he could not just help, he had to be the Jesus-like hero while doing so (while also boosting his career and image) if he really wanted to help he would have done so in silence without anyone knowing what he did
@kellycaviness4850
@kellycaviness4850 3 ай бұрын
He did a lot in silence. You can't be silent and do a telethon. If Sammy Davis Jr was alive he would tell you what he did for him ..... silently. Sinatra too. Read about this man and I mean research before commenting because going by what "they" say will get you the same old generic story about Jerry

@@FrancesHernandez-z4y I always wonder if Jerry had faith that Jesus is God. He hung up the first crucifix in his home. He had all but one son baptized. He took part in prayer on tv in Jesus’ name. I dunno but I hope he’s saved. He did great works. I don’t want it to be in vain.
