Dams are interesting Mill ponds are nice BUT they cause loss of fish and aquatic species like salmon herrings and eels. They aren’t worth keeping around.

The name Bloede is very likely from a person with German ancestry. "Blöd" or "bloed" (alternative spelling) means silly/stupid. The Bloede dam thus means the stupid dam! :D

18,000,000 million dollars of federal and state money, to remove this dam. And, we ain't done yet.

Never once was it mentioned how it was the first of its kind in the world and an historical structure. No Shad or herring yet as they’ve known over a hundred years to not even bother spawning up the Patapsco, and so far all the removal of the dam has allowed upstream are snakeheads.

I sure miss that dam. It was awesome. I remember going under as a kid and taking my kids under. A historic piece of America gone... Great some more fish... Like we don't have a country full of fish. I will miss it.

So where are the damned fish? We were promise millions of fish! Fish should be $0.10/lb now there are so many of them!
