Wow, so not only did the school randomly shut down and not give them their funds, but the housing students are just being kicked out!! If that happened to me when I was a student I would've just been homeless. Student housing exists for a reason. SMH I guess CSU Bakersfield is the only option for a university in the AV now, and that's literally just a few buildings in the back of the AVC campus in Lancaster. Whoever is in charge of all this better pay, and I mean they better suffer. This was totally preventable. This is all due to greed.

Yes, I saw one student living in his car crying by Lancaster Blvd. Because he was kicked out of his on-campus housing yesterday, I gave him $50 for food. He's lost, confused, and doesn't know what to do next.

The greed started with the founders and continued after being purchased by Singaporean Ed tech company, Genius Group. It's complicated, but It was definitely preventable. The Antelope Valley continues its downward spiral , and I feel so bad for the youth.

These certificate schools aren’t legitimate. The school my sister and brother both went too, closed down a few years after they “graduated” and the federal government or state say their accreditations were not acceptable and should not be put on future resumes. Go to a real school.

@@MZLADYE no, AVC is not closed down. AVC is part of the California Community College System and operates under the Antelope Valley Community College District. AVC is actually backed up by the state like UCs and Cal States. UAV was/is a private for profit "university". It was accredited but in 2023 it lost it's accreditation for failing to meet several of the accreditor's standards following the university's 2022 purchase by Genius Group Liminited, a foreign (Singaporean) technology group.

There’s a discord group for some students and alumni looking to get loan forgiveness. I’m in it. And we are all sharing stories and everything comes down to the school being real sketch. Some of us graduates still have never received our physical degrees. And now we are stuck with these loans to repay. Others said their fafsa says they withdrew but that’s a lie because they have proof of grad pics and all that from the year they graduated. Myself included. I would like to know if there’s a way to fight this as well because I refuse or pay for a degree that they never even physically gave me. They had all of our infos, they could’ve mailed it. But no!

Because you can't start classes without paying. And the federal government is not going to give a student money without the appropriate paperwork. The students did their part, but the school didn't.

Plenty of colleges in "the great state of Texas," and other states, have closed without giving students any warning. Just Google the subject. This is not only a California issue. If it is, show me the proof. I'll wait.
