I grew up in a small town in western Pa Sharon Pa. and also Youngstown from 1950 - 1985. Those states and small towns throughout the Steel Belt population have greatly declined due to factories and the steel mills closing. Our town had one Junior and Senior Highschool and several elementary schools. Now all the elementary and the one Jr Highschool have closed and what remaining population of students attend a consolidated High School. Cities and towns cannot survive if there are no jobs and people. God Bless the officials of Springfield Ohio, that have a plan to open their city to immigrants. I hope their resettlement program works and the city becomes a model to other cities that are struggling with declining population.

Good point! I still think it's about illegal Haitians and other illegal immigrants of all nationalities. Historically though, the USA has always given Haitians the finger. I noticed how they allowed boatloads of Cubans to come into this country, detain them a few days then let them in. Then there would be boatloads of Haitians overloading rafts and anything that would float. The authorities in Miami allowed so many Haitians to drown in the Gulf and in the ocean. Many times they would turn them around to head back to Haiti. I got it from a friend who took a police job in Miami. It's always been clear that Haitians are too "dark".
