The story is already a "movie" with all the ingredients and it would make totally sense to turn it into a real one, since she went to the U.S dreaming of becoming a Hollywood star. Instead, she ended up sleeping in the station for a decade after some years of singing piano bar. When she was asked why, she said she was hoping to meet her son, taken away from her after the divorce with her American husband. Coincidentially enough, one of her most famous and awarded songs, E duam lumturine, was a hymn to mothers love towards their childrens.

Thank you guys for everything. I need to clarify something here. She wasnt just a talented, superstar, superfamous singer to an audience shy of 10M people worldwide but she was much more. A sort of spiritual icon. She came to fame while Albania at that time was still like North Korea today and she dared to sing (to the regime and others)....Dont you dare!.....in an Artistic way but she spoke and people related to that (while at that time regime used to put critical thinkers, singers, artist and so on in jail for not voicing the propoganda or its spies for hurting anyone that could create an audience). Thats why she is so dear to many Albanians and could not be compared to icons or celebrities in the music industry but to icons that have created a longstanding impact in peoples life.

In Albania the singer PARASHQEVI SIMAKU is a diva. In the dark time of all Albania and all the Albanian people in the time of the communist regime of the 80s, with her song she opened the doors of emotions. Only she knew how to do it in her own wonderful way. Do you know how many times she won first place in the national festival at the time? Many… And by the irony of fate she won the festival in Albania with the song E DUAM LUMTURINE. (we want happiness) which talks about mothers and their children that no one uses to put us in between them. and look at the coincidence it happened to her that they took away her right to be a mother by distancing her from her son. When she went on stage with her talent she had 4 virtues. 1- an actor who with his performance brought us emotions without limits… 2- her voice. Her voice was the voice that for all Albanians was a miracle and that from that time to Albania has never come a voice like that. 3- her natural beauty was so special that all the young Albanian men kept her photo. 4- it was her mix of the 3 things indicated above. When she sang she mixed them together and a divine song came out. This was PARASHQEVI SIMAKU for us Albanians an Icon with effects of many colors of emotions ... My wife and I cried when we learned everything that happened to her. 10 years out sleeping in the subway is her son separated from her soul ??? Why ??? what happened to him ??? the cause ???? taking away the rights of the son to a mother ???? why ??? who was the one who caused all this poison towards her ??? for all this time she has never been to a doctor. But do you think it is right that a woman in 10 years never has a completed visit from the doctors ??? how did he not die only God knows who protected him. What a hero ... I hope that the authorities open a special investigation and specific for his case. PARASHQEVI SIMAKU is so sweet and so humble and I hope she goes back to being a singer and comes back on her SCENE TO DRIVE US CRAZY WITH HER PERFORMANCE THAT ONLY SHE KNOWS HOW TO DO… I sincerely thank your television for dedicating some time to our diva PARASHQEVI SIMAKU.

Paci was a great singer in my youth; and she came in search of her fame in the USA, not everybody reaches fame, not everybody is destined to greatness. We all left something behind; we left families, years of education and training and work experience, and we had to start from the beginning. Parashqevi had to start from zero in the USA, and that is not easy, especially without her fan base she had in Albania. America is the land of opportunities and greatness, one has to try hard and needs some luck on the side to make it big; but definitely is way better than what we left behind. We just wish Parashqevi the best, hopefully she can amend her relation with her son, and hope that she can find herself. She remains a great icon for Albanians, but America does not owe her or to any of us anything. It hurts seeing her in that situation, and it hurts more how some Albanian media used her tragedy for their own publicity.
