I have tears streaming down my face after watching this. I just don't even know how to begin to describe the level of respect I have for the beautiful, young indigenous people who speak in this doco. It might sound strange to say this about people I don't know, but watching this I felt so proud of them as young people, so true, so graceful, so tenacious, so rooted in their spirituality; over and over, in the face of such struggle. Theirs is no small achievement. The commitment to non-violence that this whole movement has shown, and more than this , the spiritual honesty of the humility and persistent commitment to empathy and utter refusal of hatred that they show in their interactions with the police had me in tears, this a much needed balm to the heart. Whose heart could continue to be hardened in the face of such grace, such humility, such true hearts? From across the ocean my heart flows out to all the people who stand with standing rock, and to standing rock itself, the land, the water, the animals, those wide grassy plains.

Very true it is so much more than this video portrays. I am not native but the mother of native son and grandsons. This is for all people. I am a registered nurse, water is life. Oil companies come in pushing oil, all pipes eventually leak. This pipeline is going straight down the middle of Iowa. Where most of the food is grown by the farmers. When earth has no more water and no more food, what happens to human life. Water is life, prayers for all that the government comes to its senses and realizes we are a smart people with better ways to power our country. The first Ford car ran off of hemp fuel. How many people realized this. There are alternatives for us before we destroy earth.

I am a Water Protector. I wish all of the Water Protectors would meet once a year during anniversary times for us. We are all relatives. We were prayerful and peaceful and we were utterly brutalized by private missionary's, cops and our own military. I almost died there too. I would return without a second thought. MNI WICONI is real. The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (DES) said on Tuesday that a Florida-based clean-up company it hired to clear trash, waste, and debris from the Oceti Sakowin camp protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline has already run up a bill of $1 million after hauling away from the site 24,000 tons of trash, garbage, rotting food, tents, teepees, sleeping bags, dozens of empty propane tanks, human excrement, and several automobiles. They also left behind two dogs and six puppies, apparently abandoned.

I really cannot understand how these military puppets can target unarmed people even worse, to get away with it. I love that the stance was to stay in prayer and to remain positive and peaceful against this greed. I was glued to the indigenous media recording this movement so got firsthsnd what was going on. I have a brother named Walter that was hit by a car in 1980. After we moved to a neighborhood where street wars started with North and South gangs. The south had been living on a street which was our Grandmothers name and it was St. Francis and she is Frances. I wasnt until I moved to the Water lily commons apartments that my phone number had my brothers birthday and the day that he was hit by the car. When my grandson was born he was born on the last four numbers of my phone number which was the same numbers as my brothers birthday 1217 is the last four numbers so a 2 is the number that follows.Even though he was hit on 9/25 /1980 that was 10 days after my birthday.
