To say that Canada has “taken advantage of” the US or that the US “subsidizes” Canada is preposterous. The US has, of their own accord, chosen to purchase products and resources from Canada. As to the border and drugs, only 1% come through our border to the US so that accusation is a croc. We are just as devastated and overwhelmed by drug use as the US. Instead of blaming Canada, the US needs some self examination and to be accountable for their own decisions. However, I am grateful to the US for waking up Canadians to the fact that we need to stand alone and find other markets for our products because we have been foolish.
