I had a very good friend who competed in a pretty famous pageant and I was really shocked and put off with soon drawing to a conclusion that it’s all just a money making thing for the organization itself and the way they exploit these women. I found out not only are the contestants responsible for paying for their hair, make-up, dresses traveling they are also responsible for getting these sponsors that have to pay thousands for the advertisement and getting the pageant name out there and they also have to be responsible to raise crazy amounts of money for a charity of their choice but the organization takes a cut out of that fund raising for themselves and the contestants have to sell tickets to the show. The amount of money I’m sure can easily come up 100k and the average household doesn’t even earn this kind of money yet they expect the contestants to cover basically EVERYTHING financially & the contestants don’t know about it until they fully accepted into the competition

This year Miss Universe was the worst, both the host country (Mexico), the organization, the owner Raul Rocha, the top 30, the top 12 and the top 5. They left many good candidates such as the USA, Colombia and Brazil, alone to include other countries that didn't even sound like Vietnam, Japan, Macau, Malaysia and Cambodia. One understands that they wanted to include other countries, but why include them if they don't make an effort to qualify? 🤔 It's a shame to have seen this Miss Universe 2024 and by the way, Sheynnis Palacios' farewell was the worst, a great Miss Universe and they gave her such an ugly farewell, she deserved better. 😔

I noticed that pageants owned by developing countries are biased and corrupt. They'd push their own country's candidate to the top 5, or even top 3. Same thing with Miss Cosmo - the male announcer was so biased towards Miss. Vietnam because the pageant is owned by a Vietnamese.

This year in general (not talking about the contests) was the worst year ever, the new crown is ugly, the production was a mess, the transmission was horrible, the prelims were just despicable and the treatment to the women competing I heard horrendous things, some of them have said they were passing out because they didn’t even have water available to drink and the food made most of them sick everyday. What a mess!!!

Don’t be discriminatory just because of your bias against Europeans. I follow pageants for 2 decades, and I can tell you having any European country get to Top 5, let alone win, is super rare. They are usually discriminated towards and lack the support necessary to preform. I always hope the underdogs makes it, and like it or not Denmark was an underdog that succeeded. So please stop your all caps negativity and racism, when you clearly have no understanding of pageants and what it means to represent your country and hold their flag. They have every right to be proud and be represented as any other country.

This problem started when a Thai transwoman became the owner of this pageant. The owner is desperate to win the Miss Universe crown through questionable means. Since taking over, Miss Thailand always makes it to the semi-finals and often to the Top 5, even when it seems undeserved. The owner appears to be using Miss Universe to expand their business and maximize profits, regardless of the consequences. The only way to restore the integrity of Miss Universe is to change its ownership. Period.
