May their memory be a blessing. My ancestors were murdered at Dachau. Their names are in the Museum. My grandpa was able to save my grandmother, great-grandmother, aunts and uncles after he saw the babies being thrown from the train. He was an officer and he was able to bribe another officer to look the other way. If it wasn’t for him, my mom wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t be here, he is my hero. He was a sergeant in the German Army (NOT A NAZI!!!! Hated them). I think that helped in helping them escape. I have two stones brought back from Dachau by my mom. I put one in front of their wedding picture. My husband has one for his as well.

I don't think they mean to do that. 11 million people were murdered in Nazi death camps. Of those 11 million, 6 million were Jews. That leaves 5 million men, women, and children murdered because they were also deemed unfit to live. Some of these people were Polish, Romani, homosexual, handicapped. Pregnant, German prisoners, etc.

When is the remembrance day for the 20 million people that were murdered by Stalin's henchmen? 4 million in Poland alone.Stalin had his own camps in Russia but kept the press away.Starting in Oct 1939 he began kidnapping Polish officers and government officials and then eventually whole families. In the first yr they estimate 1 million Poles were sent to Russian slave labor/death camps.Their is no stories of their survival because no did.Why did so many people survive Auschwitz if they were killing so many? And why did they build such a huge camp?

Germany did not actually start rounding up Jews until about early 1940 after the world Jewish council declared war on Germany .This was of course 6 yrs after the economic boycott that they imposed on a starving unemployed Germany in 1933 when Hitler was elected Chancellor and which he had done nothing to them and had little power because Germany had a president by the name of HINDENBURG...JUST THE FACTS. Yes, the Red Army opened the gates of Auschwitz. But the soldiers did not know what kind of institution it was. Auschwitz was not liberated intentionally but during a general offensive. During all 4 years of the Nazi-Soviet war, there was not a single order for the Red Army to save Jews, Soviet or non-Soviet. Neither the Red Army nor the partisans interfered with the actions of the SS Sonderkommandos or tried to stop the Nazis from killing Jews. On the contrary, there was a categorical order not to wave at the Nazis and not to waste resources on saving Jews. Any Holocaust/Shoah commemoration, whenever it occurs, must take into account and highlight that Israel is currently fighting an existential war to prevent another Holocaust against the new, latter-day Nazis. Those who are morally neutral about or support the latter-day Nazis of Hamas and make false claims of genocide against Israel should remain silent on Jan. 27.
