This is my favorite song. Things to love: 1. Everyone who grew up with this song will surprise their teacher by knowing what a predicate is "early" 2. The sympathetic subject of the sentence is a passive character archetype that is commonly mocked or ignored 3. Who does say women can't propose? 4. The song turning much more downbeat after Mr. Morton leaves and going more upbeat when Pearl shows up. 5. The funny foreground event at 1:53
@KairuHakubi6 жыл бұрын
yeah honestly this character would have been even better to teach about active and passive voices in writing, but that's a bit beyond schoolhouse rock's bailiwick.

You look good.) Mister Morton was lonely Mister Morton was Mister Morton is the subject of the Sentence and what the predicate says, He does Mister Morton knew just one girl Mister Morton knew Mister Morton grew flowers for Perl Mister Morton grew Mister Morton was very shy Mister Morton was Mister Morton is the subject of the Sentence and what the predicate says, He does The subject is a noun, that's person, Place or thing It's who or what the sentence is about And the predicate is the verb That's the action word That gets the subject up and out Mister Morton wrote Pearl a poem Mister Morton wrote Pearl replied in the afternoon Pearl replied by a note Mister Morton was very nervous Mister Morton was Mister Morton is the subject of the Sentence and what the predicate says, He does! The cat stretched, The sun beat down, A neighbor chased his kid. (Come here kid - come on!) Each sentence is completed when You know the subject did. Mister Morton knocked on her door Mister Morton knocked Mister Morton sat on her porch Yes, he just sat and rocked When she opened up the door he ran. Mister Morton climbed up his stairs Mister Morton climbed Mister Morton rhymed pretty words Mister Morton rhymed Mister Morton was lonely Mister Morton was Until Pearl showed up with a single Rose. Who says women can't propose? Now Mister Morton is happy And Pearl and the cat are too They're the subjects of the sentence And what the predicate says, they do🎼🎵🎶🎤

Excluding the end of this, up until that it looked like Mr. Morton is at least lonely and nowadays I’m feeling sad and lonely because a girl that I really like looks like has left my life and a bunch of other things have happened over time that made me lonely. After my parents got divorced almost 10 years ago and my dad was with another lady for a while since as they had a big family I enjoyed being around and now my dad got divorced with her almost a few years ago so that’s gone, some good friends of mine that I enjoyed hanging out with have moved out of my state over a few years ago as my life has now got small and lonely. Sometimes when it’s not a fun time I get sad being lonely, but sometimes also I do enjoy being lonely having a restful peaceful time. I refer Mr. Morton’s to nothing happy, but maybe nothing sad either as it looked like he was living an easy quiet life which I guess is the way for me to live right now although I hope for something better in the future!
