Dr Ann is the only scientist whom I look for everyday. I learn so much and a good giggle to start my day.
@DivergentDroid
@DivergentDroid 2 ай бұрын
Is she a scientist? Does she preform experimentation on hypothesis of cause and effect relationships from naturally occurring observable phenomena (called the scientific method) because that is what Natural Science requires by definition. Pseudoscience is the claim of science when the scientific method has not been used. It is not permissible in science to make any claim of a cause and effect relationship that has not been put through the method. You would be surprised at the amount of people who are labeled scientists that have never used the scientific method in their careers. Those people are not scientists anymore than theoretical physicist are not scientists because they don't use the scientific method either.

It looks like she's Not a scientist at all She is called Dr because she has a PhD in Journalism. I cannot find any formal education in science or physics even though she used her PhD in Journalism degree to write for many "science" related companies. I just read the full bio on her from ecommercetest2 called "The Multifaceted Career Of Dr. Ann Jones". - So she is a Paid Science Communicator - but has No training in physics or Natural Science. (that I can find)

@camikidder9681
@camikidder9681 2 ай бұрын
@@JimmyYuen-n5n The eggs need to stay dry to develop so no go in the ocean, and burying them in the sand protects them from predators. The sand helps to regulate the temperature of the nest so the eggs don't get too hot or too cold. Then when they hatch, the act of climbing out of the sand and "running" to the ocean, builds their swimming muscles and helps them imprint on their home beach.

I remember a story about an octopus at a zoo. It was in a large container that screwed on. The food kept disappearing. They couldn’t figure out how. A video camera was placed in the room. The octopus was unscrewing the lid from the inside, getting out, unscrewing the lid to the food, eating a little(not enough to be very noticeable) screwing the lid on, getting back in its container and screwing it on. It had the forethought to minimize the clues to not get caught so it could keep getting extra. That is a scary level of thought and planning. Remembering how everything is, knowing taking small amounts so over a long time it would get more instead of gorging once, remembering how everything looked and making sure to return everything to its original state is SO smart. If they get any smarter we might be in trouble!
